They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.

无故与我为仇的追逼我，像追雀鸟一样。

无故与我为敌的追逼我，像追捕雀鸟一样。

无故与我为敌的追逼我，像追捕雀鸟一样。

敌人无故地追捕我，如同捕猎飞鸟。

那些无故与我为敌的人追捕我，像追捕雀鸟一样。

無故與我為仇的追逼我，像追雀鳥一樣。

無故與我為敵的追逼我，像追捕雀鳥一樣。

無故與我為敵的追逼我，像追捕雀鳥一樣。

敵人無故地追捕我，如同捕獵飛鳥。

那些無故與我為敵的人追捕我，像追捕雀鳥一樣。

『我的仇敵無緣無故緊緊追捕我，像捕雀鳥一樣。

無故為我敵者、急追我如追鳥兮、

敵人追予、出於無因、若鳥被逐兮。

無故憾我者、追我若鳥、

Those who were my enemies without cause hunted me like a bird.

Those who were my enemies for no reason at all hunted me down as if I were a bird.

“ I have been hunted like a bird by those who were my enemies without cause;

My enemies, whom I have never harmed, hunted me down like a bird.

For no reason, my enemies hunted me like a bird.

My enemies without reason Hunted me down like a bird;

My enemies without cause Hunted me down like a bird.

They have chased me sore like a bird, they that are mine enemies without cause.

For no apparent reason, my enemies hunted me like a bird.

Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

For no good reason my enemies hunted me down like a bird.

Don’t let those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; neither let those who hate me without a cause wink their eyes.

For without cause they have hidden their net in a pit for me. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.

But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law,‘ They hated me without a cause.’

He said,“ Why does my lord pursue his servant? For what have I done? What evil is in my hand?Now therefore, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is so that Yahweh has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering. But if it is the children of men, they are cursed before Yahweh; for they have driven me out today that I shouldn’t cling to Yahweh’s inheritance, saying,‘ Go, serve other gods!’Now therefore, don’t let my blood fall to the earth away from the presence of Yahweh; for the king of Israel has come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains.”

Moreover Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah,“ How have I sinned against you, against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison?

Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For Yahweh will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights Yahweh’s battles. Evil will not be found in you all your days.Though men may rise up to pursue you, and to seek your soul, yet the soul of my lord will be bound in the bundle of life with Yahweh your God. He will sling out the souls of your enemies, as from the hollow of a sling.

Then the princes said to the king,“ Please let this man be put to death; because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but harm.”Zedekiah the king said,“ Behold, he is in your hand; for the king can’t do anything to oppose you.”Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

Behold, today your eyes have seen how Yahweh had delivered you today into my hand in the cave. Some urged me to kill you; but I spared you; and I said, I will not stretch out my hand against my lord; for he is Yahweh’s anointed.Moreover, my father, behold, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand; for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and didn’t kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor disobedience in my hand, and I have not sinned against you, though you hunt for my life to take it.May Yahweh judge between me and you, and may Yahweh avenge me of you; but my hand will not be on you.As the proverb of the ancients says,‘ Out of the wicked comes wickedness;’ but my hand will not be on you.Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea?May Yahweh therefore be judge, and give sentence between me and you, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hand.”

The princes were angry with Jeremiah, and struck him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe; for they had made that the prison.When Jeremiah had come into the dungeon house, and into the cells, and Jeremiah had remained there many days,

Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.

Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who want to cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I didn’t take away.

In Yahweh, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul,“ Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
