“ I have been hunted like a bird by those who were my enemies without cause;

无故与我为仇的追逼我，像追雀鸟一样。

无故与我为敌的追逼我，像追捕雀鸟一样。

无故与我为敌的追逼我，像追捕雀鸟一样。

敌人无故地追捕我，如同捕猎飞鸟。

那些无故与我为敌的人追捕我，像追捕雀鸟一样。

無故與我為仇的追逼我，像追雀鳥一樣。

無故與我為敵的追逼我，像追捕雀鳥一樣。

無故與我為敵的追逼我，像追捕雀鳥一樣。

敵人無故地追捕我，如同捕獵飛鳥。

那些無故與我為敵的人追捕我，像追捕雀鳥一樣。

『我的仇敵無緣無故緊緊追捕我，像捕雀鳥一樣。

無故為我敵者、急追我如追鳥兮、

敵人追予、出於無因、若鳥被逐兮。

無故憾我者、追我若鳥、

Those who were my enemies without cause hunted me like a bird.

Those who were my enemies for no reason at all hunted me down as if I were a bird.

My enemies, whom I have never harmed, hunted me down like a bird.

For no reason, my enemies hunted me like a bird.

My enemies without reason Hunted me down like a bird;

My enemies without cause Hunted me down like a bird.

They have chased me sore like a bird, they that are mine enemies without cause.

For no apparent reason, my enemies hunted me like a bird.

Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

For no good reason my enemies hunted me down like a bird.

They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.

Let not those rejoice over me who are wrongfully my foes, and let not those wink the eye who hate me without cause.

For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life.

But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled:‘ They hated me without a cause.’

And he said,“ Why does my lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? What evil is on my hands?Now therefore let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is the Lord who has stirred you up against me, may he accept an offering, but if it is men, may they be cursed before the Lord, for they have driven me out this day that I should have no share in the heritage of the Lord, saying,‘ Go, serve other gods.’Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth away from the presence of the Lord, for the king of Israel has come out to seek a single flea like one who hunts a partridge in the mountains.”

Jeremiah also said to King Zedekiah,“ What wrong have I done to you or your servants or this people, that you have put me in prison?

Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For the Lord will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord is fighting the battles of the Lord, and evil shall not be found in you so long as you live.If men rise up to pursue you and to seek your life, the life of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of the living in the care of the Lord your God. And the lives of your enemies he shall sling out as from the hollow of a sling.

Then the officials said to the king,“ Let this man be put to death, for he is weakening the hands of the soldiers who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking the welfare of this people, but their harm.”King Zedekiah said,“ Behold, he is in your hands, for the king can do nothing against you.”So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. And there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

They encircle me with words of hate, and attack me without cause.

Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the Lord gave you today into my hand in the cave. And some told me to kill you, but I spared you. I said,‘ I will not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed.’See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it.May the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you.As the proverb of the ancients says,‘ Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ But my hand shall not be against you.After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog! After a flea!May the Lord therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and plead my cause and deliver me from your hand.”

And the officials were enraged at Jeremiah, and they beat him and imprisoned him in the house of Jonathan the secretary, for it had been made a prison.When Jeremiah had come to the dungeon cells and remained there many days,

[ Sin and Shin] Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.

More in number than the hairs of my head are those who hate me without cause; mighty are those who would destroy me, those who attack me with lies. What I did not steal must I now restore?

In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul,“ Flee like a bird to your mountain,
