For the Lord will not reject us forever.

For no one is cast off by the Lord forever.

The Lord doesn’t turn his back on people forever.

For the Lord will not cast off forever,

For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever.

For the Lord will not reject us forever.

For the Lord will not reject forever,

“ For a short time I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will gather you.In a burst of anger I rejected you momentarily, but with lasting devotion I will have compassion on you,” says your protector, the LORD.“ As far as I am concerned, this is like in Noah’s time, when I vowed that the waters of Noah’s flood would never again cover the earth. In the same way I have vowed that I will not be angry at you or shout at you.Even if the mountains are removed and the hills displaced, my devotion will not be removed from you, nor will my covenant of friendship be displaced,” says the LORD, the one who has compassion on you.

I asked,“ Will the Lord reject me forever? Will he never again show me his favor?

Certainly the LORD does not forsake his people; he does not abandon the nation that belongs to him.

I will make a lasting covenant with them that I will never stop doing good to them. I will fill their hearts and minds with respect for me so that they will never again turn away from me.

So I ask, God has not rejected his people, has he? Absolutely not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew! Do you not know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?“ Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars; I alone am left and they are seeking my life!”But what was the divine response to him?“ I have kept for myself seven thousand people who have not bent the knee to Baal.”So in the same way at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.And if it is by grace, it is no longer by works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

For I will not be hostile forever or perpetually angry, for then man’s spirit would grow faint before me, the life-giving breath I created.

The LORD says,“ I will not reject all the descendants of Israel because of all that they have done. That could only happen if the heavens above could be measured or the foundations of the earth below could all be explored,” says the LORD.

“ You have surely noticed what these people are saying, haven’t you? They are saying,‘ The LORD has rejected the two families of Israel and Judah that he chose.’ So they have little regard that my people will ever again be a nation.

The LORD will not abandon his people because he wants to uphold his great reputation. The LORD was pleased to make you his own people.

The LORD is compassionate and merciful; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love.He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry.He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve.

There is no other God like you! You forgive sin and pardon the rebellion of those who remain among your people. You do not remain angry forever, but delight in showing loyal love.
