“你們要走進她的葡萄園（“葡萄園”原文作“葡萄樹的行列”）裡施行毀壞，但不可毀滅淨盡，要除掉她的枝子，因為它們不屬耶和華。

他向我這樣顯示：看哪！主站在一道按準繩建造的牆旁邊，手裡拿著準繩。耶和華對我說：“阿摩司，你看見甚麼？”我回答：“我看見準繩。”主又說：“看哪！我把準繩放在我民以色列中間，必不再放過他們。

主吞滅了雅各所有住處，毫不顧惜；他在忿怒中，把猶大居民的堅固城拆毀；他使國家和國中眾領袖都倒在地上，受盡羞辱。

耶和華作成了他定意去作的，成就了他的話，就是他昔日所宣告的，他把你拆毀，並不憐惜，他使仇敵因勝過你而高興，他高舉你敵人的角。

他又擊敗摩押人，使他們躺在地上，用繩子量他們，把量兩繩的殺死，讓量一繩的存活。這樣，摩押人就臣服大衛，給他進貢。

我要以公平為準繩，以公義為線鉈；冰雹必把謊言的遮蔽沖去，大水必漫過庇護所。”

現在我告訴你們，我要怎樣處理我的葡萄園：我要把它的籬笆撤去，使它被吞滅；我要把它的圍牆拆毀，使它被踐踏。

就是把你的手縮回，遠離我身，又不使你的驚懼威嚇我。

主好像成了仇敵；他吞滅了以色列和她所有的宮殿，毀壞了她的堅固城。他在猶大居民的中間，增添了悲哀和哭號。

然而我為了我名的緣故縮手，沒有這樣作，免得我名在列國的人眼中被褻瀆；我曾在他們眼前把以色列人領出來。
