Jerusalem’s people are suffering and wandering. They remember all the treasures they used to have. But they fell into the hands of their enemies. And no one was there to help them. Their enemies looked at them. They laughed because Jerusalem had been destroyed.

Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and wandering all the precious things that were hers from days of old. When her people fell into the hand of the foe, and there was none to help her, her foes gloated over her; they mocked at her downfall.

讓我來歌唱我所愛的人，來唱一首愛歌論到他的葡萄園：我所愛的人有葡萄園在肥美的山岡上。他刨挖了園子，撿去石頭，栽種了上好的葡萄樹；在園中建造了一座守望樓，又鑿出一個酒池；指望着它結好葡萄，反倒結了野葡萄。如今呢、耶路撒冷的居民和猶大人哪，在我和我的葡萄園之間斷定是非吧！我為我的葡萄園所能作的、還有甚麼沒有作到呢？我指望着它結好葡萄，它為甚麼倒結了野葡萄呢？

我懷念着上帝，悲哀歎息；我哀怨默想，心靈發昏。（細拉）

現在聚集來攻擊你的有許多國的人，就是那些說：『願錫安被戰事蹂躪玷污，願我們親眼見到她遭報』的。

哪一個大國的人有神和他們這麼親近，像永恆主我們的上帝在我們呼求他時和我們這麼親近呢？又哪一個大國有這樣公義的律例典章、像我今日在你們面前所頒布的這一切律法呢？

她必追逐她的愛人，卻追不上；她必尋找他們，卻尋不見；便說：「我要去，回歸我的前夫，因為我那時的光景比如今還好。」

因為永恆主你的上帝正在領你進入美好之地；那地有流水的溪河，有泉有源，在峽谷和山中流出來；那地有小麥、大麥、葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹；那地有出油的橄欖樹、有蜜；在那地你喫食物、並不顯着寒酸；在那裏你一無所缺；那地的石頭就是鐵；從它的山上你可以鑿出銅來。

他將他的話曉諭雅各，將他的律例典章指示以色列。他待任何別國都沒有這樣待過；這些典章他們都不知道。哈利路亞！

『永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：猶大王打發了你們來求問我，你們要對他這麼說：「看吧，法老的軍隊、那出來幫助你們的，必回埃及它本地去。

有哪一位神曾試圖用試驗、用神迹、奇事、用戰爭、用大力的手、和伸出的膀臂、及大而驚人的事，去從別的國中將一國的人民領出來、歸於自己，像永恆主你們的上帝在埃及當你們眼前為你們所行的一切事呢？至於你呢，你卻蒙受顯示、得以知道、惟有永恆主、他是上帝；除他以外、再沒有別的神。從天上他使你聽見他的聲音，為要管教你；在地上他使你看見他偉大的火，並且從那火中聽見他所說的話。因他愛你列祖，揀選他們以後的苗裔，用大能力親自領你出了埃及，

所有過路的人都拍掌嘲笑你；他們都向耶路撒冷小姐嗤笑搖頭說；『難道人所稱為十全十美、全地所喜悅的、就是這城麼？』你的仇敵都抿着嘴來調弄你；他們嗤笑着又切齒着，說：『我們吞滅了她了！啊！這正是我們所盼望的日子呀！我們得到了！我們看到了！』

『惟願我像往昔的歲月，像上帝保守我的日子。那時他使他的燈照我頭上，我藉着他的光行過黑暗；就是在我壯年日子：上帝親密的友誼光臨於我家；全能者始終和我同在，我的孩子都在我四圍；那時我用奶酪洗腳，磐石給我瀉出油河。我出門上街去，在廣場上豫備我的座位；青年人看見我就迴避，老年人起立站着；王子都停止說話，用手掌摀口；貴人都屏氣收聲，舌頭貼住上膛。因為耳朵聽見了、就稱我為有福；眼睛看見了、就作證稱讚我；因為我搭救了呼救的困苦人、搭救孤兒和無人幫助者。將要滅亡的人給我祝福；我也使寡婦的心歡唱。我以正義為衣服，正義也做衣服覆被着我；我的公平就如外袍與華冠。我成了瞎子的眼，瘸子的腳。我做了窮人的父；我查明素不認識者的案件。我打破了不義之人的牙床，使他所抓撕的從牙齒間掉下。那時我心裏說：「我必善終於我的巢窩；我必增多我的年日如塵沙；我的根延展到水邊，有甘露終夜霑我枝條；我的光榮在我身上清新，我拉的弓在我手中堅韌。『人都聽我、仰望我，靜靜等我的計議。我說了話之後，他們就不再說；我的話語直滴在他們身上。他們仰望着我、就如仰望下雨；直張開着口切慕春雨。我向他們微笑、他們也不相信；但他們總沒使我不悅、而變臉色。我選擇了他們應行的路，就坐鎮如首領；我如君王住在軍隊中，像個安慰悲哀的人。『但如今呢、比我年少的人倒譏笑了我；他們的父親我曾瞧不起，不讓跟我羊羣的狗同列。

他回悟過來，就說：「我父親有多少雇工，食物充足有餘，我倒在這裏因饑餓而喪命啊？
