Know then that God has wronged me And has surrounded me with His net.

I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.

And I will spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My net. Then I will bring him to Babylon and enter into judgment with him there regarding the unfaithful act which he has committed against Me.

Who can stand before His indignation? Who can endure the burning of His anger? His wrath gushes forth like fire, And the rocks are broken up by Him.

You brought us into the net; You laid an oppressive burden upon us.

May all who hate Zion Be put to shame and turned backward;

My soul, my soul! I am in anguish! Oh, my heart! My heart is pounding in me; I cannot keep silent, Because, my soul, you have heard The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.Disaster upon disaster is proclaimed, For the whole land is devastated; Suddenly my tents are devastated, And my curtains in an instant.How long must I see the flag And hear the sound of the trumpet?“ For My people are foolish, They do not know Me; They are foolish children And have no understanding. This is what the Lord God says:“ Now I will spread My net over you With a contingent of many peoples, And they will lift you up in My net.

For my life is spent with sorrow And my years with sighing; My strength has failed because of my guilt, And my body has wasted away.

They will be turned back and be utterly put to shame, Who trust in idols, Who say to cast metal images,“ You are our gods.”

When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will discipline them in accordance with the proclamation to their assembly.

Among those nations you will find no peace, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul.

In fierce anger He has cut off All the strength of Israel; He has pulled back His right hand From the enemy. And He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire Consuming on all sides.He has bent His bow like an enemy; His right hand is positioned like an adversary, And He has killed everything that was pleasant to the eye. In the tent of the daughter of Zion He has poured out His wrath like fire.

Because of this our heart is faint, Because of these things our eyes are dim;

Therefore My wrath and My anger gushed out and burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, so they have become ruins and a desolation as it is this day.

They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,For a fire has flared in My anger, And it burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And devours the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.‘ I will add misfortunes to them; I will use up My arrows on them.They will be wasted by famine, and emaciated by plague And a bitter epidemic; And the teeth of beasts I will send against them, With the venom of crawling things of the dust.Outside the sword will make them childless, And inside, terror— Both young man and virgin, The nursing child with the man of gray hair.

Yet our eyes failed, Looking for help was useless; At our observation point we have watched For a nation that could not save.They hunted our steps So that we could not walk in our streets; Our end drew near, Our days were finished For our end had come.Our pursuers were swifter Than the eagles of the sky; They chased us on the mountains, They waited in ambush for us in the wilderness.The breath of our nostrils, the Lord’s anointed, Was captured in their pits, Of whom we had said,“ In his shadow We shall live among the nations.”

Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life; Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.

May those who seek my life Be put to shame and humiliated; May those who delight in my harm Be turned back and dishonored.May those who say,“ Aha, aha!” be turned back Because of their shame.

May all their wickedness come before You; And deal with them just as You have dealt with me For all my wrongdoings. For my groans are many and my heart is faint.”

in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
