The enemy laid hands on all her treasures; she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary— those you had forbidden to enter your assembly.

Jerusalem’s enemies took away all her treasures. Her people saw outsiders enter her temple. The Lord had commanded them not to do that.

The enemy has stretched out his hands over all her precious things; for she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary, those whom you forbade to enter your congregation.

The enemy has plundered her completely, taking every precious thing she owns. She has seen foreigners violate her sacred Temple, the place the Lord had forbidden them to enter.

「當你們看見『那帶來毀滅的褻瀆者』站在不該站的地方時——讀者應當思考——那時，在猶太的人應當逃到山裡；

神哪，列國進入了你的繼業，玷汙了你聖潔的殿，使耶路撒冷變為荒堆！他們把你僕人的屍體給了天空的飛鳥為食物，把你忠信者的肉體給了地上的野獸。他們使耶路撒冷四圍血流成河，屍體無人埋葬。我們成了鄰居辱罵的對象，成了周圍人嘲笑和諷刺的對象。耶和華啊，這要到什麼時候呢？你要永久發怒嗎？你的嫉妒要像火那樣燃燒嗎？求你傾瀉你的怒火，向不認識你的列邦，向不呼求你名的列國；因為他們吞噬了雅各，使他的居所變得荒涼。

因此，我的子民必因他們的無知被擄走；他們的尊貴人飢餓，他們的民眾極其乾渴。故此，陰間擴張喉嚨，大開其口，沒有限量；耶路撒冷的威榮與她的民眾，她的喧嚷與其中狂歡的人都必落入陰間。

你聖潔的子民短暫地擁有了你的聖所，我們的敵人就踐踏了它。
