The enemy laid hands on all her treasures; she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary— those you had forbidden to enter your assembly.

Jerusalem’s enemies took away all her treasures. Her people saw outsiders enter her temple. The Lord had commanded them not to do that.

The enemy has stretched out his hands over all her precious things; for she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary, those whom you forbade to enter your congregation.

The enemy has plundered her completely, taking every precious thing she owns. She has seen foreigners violate her sacred Temple, the place the Lord had forbidden them to enter.

The adversary has seized all her precious belongings. She has even seen the nations enter her sanctuary— those you had forbidden to enter your assembly.

你們說巴比倫人闖入了耶和華殿的聖所，使你們蒙受恥辱，滿面羞愧。

「亞捫人或摩押人及其十代以內的子孫都不可加入耶和華的會眾。

那天，有人給民眾宣讀摩西律法書時，發現書上說亞捫人和摩押人永不可加入上帝的會眾。

在困苦流離中，耶路撒冷想起昔日的榮華。如今，她的人民落在敵人手中，無人援救。仇敵看見她，都嘲笑她的滅亡。

你的眾聖城已淪為荒場，甚至錫安已淪為荒場，耶路撒冷已淪為廢墟。我們那聖潔、華美的殿——我們祖先頌讚你的地方已被焚毀，我們珍愛的一切都被摧毀。

他們在你聖所中高聲叫嚷，豎立起自己的旗幟。他們大肆毀壞，好像人掄起斧頭砍伐樹林。他們用斧頭、錘子把雕刻的牆板都搗毀了。他們縱火焚燒你的聖所，把它夷為平地，褻瀆了你的居所。他們心裡說：「我們要徹底毀滅一切。」於是他們燒毀了境內所有敬拜上帝的地方。

你們獻上食物、脂肪和血的同時，竟將那些身心未受割禮的外族人領進我的聖所，褻瀆我的殿，破壞我的約，使你們罪上加罪。

「當你們看見『那帶來毀滅的可憎之物』站在不當站的地方時（讀者須會意），住在猶太地區的人要逃到山上去；

迦勒底人打碎耶和華殿中的銅柱、銅底座和銅海，把銅運往巴比倫，並帶走了盆、鏟、蠟剪、碗、碟及一切獻祭用的銅器。護衛長還帶走了杯、火鼎、碗、盆、燈臺、碟和奠酒的杯等所有金銀器皿。所羅門王為耶和華的殿所造的兩根銅柱、一個銅海、銅海下面的十二頭銅牛，以及一些銅底座，用的銅多得無法計算。

放火焚燒耶和華的殿、王宮及城內所有的房屋。他燒毀了所有重要建築。

上帝啊，外族人侵佔你的產業，玷污你的聖殿，使耶路撒冷淪為廢墟。他們把你僕人的屍體餵飛鳥，把你忠心子民的屍體給野獸吃，使耶路撒冷周圍血流成河，屍體無人埋葬。我們成了列國羞辱的對象，周圍的人都嗤笑、譏諷我們。耶和華啊，你向我們發怒，要到何時呢？難道要到永遠嗎？你的怒火要燒到何時呢？求你把烈怒撒向那些不承認你的列邦，撒向那些不求告你的列國。因為他們吞噬了雅各，摧毀了他的家園。

所以，我的子民必因無知而被擄。他們的貴族無餅充饑，民眾無水解渴。陰間必食慾膨脹，張開大口吞噬耶路撒冷的首領、群眾和宴樂之人。

你的聖民曾短暫地擁有你的聖所，如今它已被我們的敵人踏平。

我要把這城裡所有的財富、出產、珍寶，甚至猶大列王的寶物都交給敵人，帶到巴比倫作戰利品。

我必轉臉不看他們，任由外族人褻瀆我的殿，強盜必進入殿裡大肆褻瀆。

因為你們境內罪惡氾濫，我要使敵人任意搶掠你們的財寶，

祂又對他們說：「要玷污這殿，把你們所殺的堆滿整個院子。去吧！」他們便出去，在城中殺戮。
