然天使長米迦勒為摩西屍與魔爭辯時、尚不敢謗讟以罪之、第曰、主其責爾、

至上天使米迦勒、與魔鬼爭摩西屍、猶不敢詬誶定其罪、惟曰、主責爾矣、

天使長米迦勒為摩西之屍與魔爭、猶不敢用謗言以罪之、惟曰、主責爾、

昔總領天神彌額爾與魔鬼奪摩西屍體也、猶且不敢擅作威福、加以無謂之凌辱、僅曰：『願主責爾』而已。

But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

But even Michael, the leader of the angels, didn’t dare to say these things. He didn’t even say these things when he argued with the devil about the body of Moses. Michael didn’t dare to judge the devil. He didn’t say the devil was guilty of saying evil things. Instead, Michael said,“ May the Lord judge you!”

But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said,“ The Lord rebuke you.”

But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”( This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)

Yet when Michael the archangel was disputing with the devil in an argument about Moses’s body, he did not dare utter a slanderous condemnation against him but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Yet Michael the archangel, when he was disputing with the Devil in a debate about Moses’ body, did not dare bring an abusive condemnation against him but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

But even when Michael the archangel was arguing with the devil and debating with him concerning Moses’ body, he did not dare to bring a slanderous judgment, but said,“ May the Lord rebuke you!”

But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said,“ May the Lord rebuke you!”

And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,

And the Lord said to Satan,“ The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.

whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth.( No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince.

“ At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying,“ Aha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,

Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying,“ If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying,“ Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?

“ Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying:‘ Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying,“ Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”Look! You have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them; and shall you be delivered?Have the gods of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed, Gozan and Haran and Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?’”And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.Then Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, saying:“ O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.Truly, Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations and their lands,and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were not gods, but the work of men’s hands— wood and stone. Therefore they destroyed them.Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord, You alone.”

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them,“ If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look and bring judgment.”

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out with a loud voice in Hebrew, and said,“ Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!Thus says the king:‘ Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you;nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying,“ The Lord will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”’Do not listen to Hezekiah; for thus says the king of Assyria:‘ Make peace with me by a present and come out to me; and every one of you eat from his own vine and every one from his own fig tree, and every one of you drink the waters of his own cistern;until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying,“ The Lord will deliver us.” Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria?Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand?Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?’”But they held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was,“ Do not answer him.”

And they said to him,“ Thus says Hezekiah:‘ This day is a day of trouble and rebuke and blasphemy; for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth.It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

“ You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.
