In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.

In the very same way, these ungodly people act on their evil dreams. So they make their own bodies impure. They don’t accept authority. And they say evil things against heavenly beings.

Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones.

In the same way, these people— who claim authority from their dreams— live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings.

In the same way these people— relying on their dreams— defile their flesh, reject authority, and slander glorious ones.

Yet in the same way these people also, dreaming, defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak abusively of angelic majesties.

Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.

Yet in like manner these also in their dreamings defile the flesh, and set at nought dominion, and rail at dignities.

Nevertheless, these dreamers likewise defile their flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme glorious ones.

Likewise also these[ filthy] dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Yet these men, as a result of their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and insult the glorious ones.

Yet in the same way, these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings.

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you. (niv)

for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers— and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine (niv)

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor. (niv)

This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings;yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord.But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish. (niv)

Do not revile the king even in your thoughts, or curse the rich in your bedroom, because a bird in the sky may carry your words, and a bird on the wing may report what you say. (niv)

Paul replied,“ Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written:‘ Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.’” (niv)

“ But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say,‘ We don’t want this man to be our king.’ (niv)

“ The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures. (niv)

“ For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (niv)

May the Lord silence all flattering lips and every boastful tongue—those who say,“ By our tongues we will prevail; our own lips will defend us— who is lord over us?” (niv)

“ There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers; (niv)

Then Moses summoned Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab. But they said,“ We will not come!Isn’t it enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? And now you also want to lord it over us! (niv)

Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit. (niv)

“ But our ancestors refused to obey him. Instead, they rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt. (niv)
