Now I desire to remind you( even though you have been fully informed of these facts once for all) that Jesus, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, later destroyed those who did not believe.

從前主曾儘一次地救了他的人民出埃及地，後來又叫不信的人滅亡；這一切事你們雖都知道了，我的意思還是要提醒你們記得。

你們雖然知道這一切，我還想提醒你們：主一次性地把子民從埃及地救了出來，後來把那些不信的人都毀滅了，

爾雖悉知之、我今欲令爾憶之、即主救民出埃及地、後滅其不信者、

維爾知之素、欲俾爾憶之、昔主救民出埃及地、後滅諸不信者、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

予茲所欲言者、無非爾所習聞素諳、第欲予爾以警惕耳。在昔主既拯斯民於埃及、厥後其中有狐疑不信者、主乃予以消滅。

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

I want to remind you about some things you already know. The Lord saved his people. At one time he brought them out of Egypt. But later he destroyed those who did not believe.

Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.

Now I want to remind you, although you came to know all these things once and for all, that Jesus saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe;

But there was not a man among these who had been among those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they numbered the Israelites in the wilderness of Sinai.For the LORD had said of them,“ They will surely die in the wilderness.” And there was not left a single man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

For all the people have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have tempted me now these ten times, and have not obeyed me,they will by no means see the land that I swore to their fathers, nor will any of them who despised me see it.Only my servant Caleb, because he had a different spirit and has followed me fully– I will bring him into the land where he had gone, and his descendants will possess it.( Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites were living in the valleys.) Tomorrow, turn and journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.”The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron:“ How long must I bear with this evil congregation that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.Say to them,‘ As I live, says the LORD, I will surely do to you just what you have spoken in my hearing.Your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness– all those of you who were numbered, according to your full number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me.You will by no means enter into the land where I swore to settle you. The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, and they will enjoy the land that you have despised.But as for you, your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness,and your children will wander in the wilderness forty years and suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your dead bodies lie finished in the wilderness.According to the number of the days you have investigated this land, forty days– one day for a year– you will suffer for your iniquities, forty years, and you will know what it means to thwart me.I, the LORD, have said,“ I will surely do so to all this evil congregation that has gathered together against me. In this wilderness they will be finished, and there they will die!”’”The men whom Moses sent to investigate the land, who returned and made the whole community murmur against him by producing an evil report about the land,those men who produced the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

For which ones heard and rebelled? Was it not all who came out of Egypt under Moses’ leadership?And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.Therefore we must be wary that, while the promise of entering his rest remains open, none of you may seem to have come short of it.For we had good news proclaimed to us just as they did. But the message they heard did them no good, since they did not join in with those who heard it in faith.

So he made a solemn vow that he would make them die in the desert,

Indeed, it was the very hand of the LORD that eliminated them from within the camp until they were all gone.So it was that after all the military men had been eliminated from the community,

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea,and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,and all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they were all drinking from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were cut down in the wilderness.These things happened as examples for us, so that we will not crave evil things as they did.So do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written,“ The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”And let us not be immoral, as some of them were, and twenty- three thousand died in a single day.And let us not put Christ to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by snakes.And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel.These things happened to them as examples and were written for our instruction, on whom the ends of the ages have come.So let the one who thinks he is standing be careful that he does not fall.

Dear friends, this is already the second letter I have written you, in which I am trying to stir up your pure mind by way of reminder:

But I have written more boldly to you on some points so as to remind you, because of the grace given to me by God

Therefore, I intend to remind you constantly of these things even though you know them and are well established in the truth that you now have.Indeed, as long as I am in this tabernacle, I consider it right to stir you up by way of a reminder,
