Now I want to remind you, although you came to know all these things once and for all, that Jesus saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe;

從前主曾儘一次地救了他的人民出埃及地，後來又叫不信的人滅亡；這一切事你們雖都知道了，我的意思還是要提醒你們記得。

你們雖然知道這一切，我還想提醒你們：主一次性地把子民從埃及地救了出來，後來把那些不信的人都毀滅了，

爾雖悉知之、我今欲令爾憶之、即主救民出埃及地、後滅其不信者、

維爾知之素、欲俾爾憶之、昔主救民出埃及地、後滅諸不信者、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

予茲所欲言者、無非爾所習聞素諳、第欲予爾以警惕耳。在昔主既拯斯民於埃及、厥後其中有狐疑不信者、主乃予以消滅。

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

I want to remind you about some things you already know. The Lord saved his people. At one time he brought them out of Egypt. But later he destroyed those who did not believe.

Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.

Now I want to remind you, though you know everything once and for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.

But among them there was not one of those who had been registered by Moses and the priest Aaron when they registered the Israelites in the Wilderness of Sinai.For the LORD had said to them that they would all die in the wilderness. None of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

none of the men who have seen my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tested me these ten times and did not obey me,will ever see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have despised me will see it.But since my servant Caleb has a different spirit and has remained loyal to me, I will bring him into the land where he has gone, and his descendants will inherit it.Since the Amalekites and Canaanites are living in the lowlands, turn back tomorrow and head for the wilderness in the direction of the Red Sea.”Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron:“ How long must I endure this evil community that keeps complaining about me? I have heard the Israelites’ complaints that they make against me.Tell them: As I live— this is the LORD’s declaration— I will do to you exactly as I heard you say.Your corpses will fall in this wilderness— all of you who were registered in the census, the entire number of you twenty years old or more— because you have complained about me.I swear that none of you will enter the land I promised to settle you in, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.I will bring your children whom you said would become plunder into the land you rejected, and they will enjoy it.But as for you, your corpses will fall in this wilderness.Your children will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years and bear the penalty for your acts of unfaithfulness until all your corpses lie scattered in the wilderness.You will bear the consequences of your iniquities forty years based on the number of the forty days that you scouted the land, a year for each day. You will know my displeasure.I, the LORD, have spoken. I swear that I will do this to the entire evil community that has conspired against me. They will come to an end in the wilderness, and there they will die.”So the men Moses sent to scout out the land, and who returned and incited the entire community to complain about him by spreading a negative report about the land—those men who spread the negative report about the land were struck down by the LORD.

For who heard and rebelled? Wasn’t it all who came out of Egypt under Moses?With whom was God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.Therefore, since the promise to enter his rest remains, let us beware that none of you be found to have fallen short.For we also have received the good news just as they did. But the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith.

So he raised his hand against them with an oath that he would make them fall in the desert

Indeed, the LORD’s hand was against them, to eliminate them from the camp until they had all perished.“ When all the fighting men had died among the people,

Now I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea,and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.They all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.Nevertheless God was not pleased with most of them, since they were struck down in the wilderness.Now these things took place as examples for us, so that we will not desire evil things as they did.Don’t become idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to party.Let us not commit sexual immorality as some of them did, and in a single day twenty-three thousand people died.Let us not test Christ as some of them did and were destroyed by snakes.And don’t grumble as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.These things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our instruction, on whom the ends of the ages have come.So, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall.

Dear friends, this is now the second letter I have written to you; in both letters, I want to stir up your sincere understanding by way of reminder,

Nevertheless, I have written to remind you more boldly on some points because of the grace given me by God

Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.I think it is right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder,
