爾雖悉知之、我今欲令爾憶之、即主救民出埃及地、後滅其不信者、

維爾知之素、欲俾爾憶之、昔主救民出埃及地、後滅諸不信者、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

予茲所欲言者、無非爾所習聞素諳、第欲予爾以警惕耳。在昔主既拯斯民於埃及、厥後其中有狐疑不信者、主乃予以消滅。

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

I want to remind you about some things you already know. The Lord saved his people. At one time he brought them out of Egypt. But later he destroyed those who did not believe.

Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.

because all those men that have seen my glory, and my signs, which I wrought in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that despised me see it:but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.Now the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley: to- morrow turn ye, and get you into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.Say unto them, As I live, saith Jehovah, surely as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, that have murmured against me,surely ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.But your little ones, that ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have rejected.But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.And your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whoredoms, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.After the number of the days in which ye spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my alienation.I, Jehovah, have spoken, surely this will I do unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.And the men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land,even those men that did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Jehovah.

For who, when they heard, did provoke? nay, did not all they that came out of Egypt by Moses?And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.

Therefore he sware unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,

Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;and did all eat the same spiritual food;and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

This is now, beloved, the second epistle that I write unto you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by putting you in remembrance;

But I write the more boldly unto you in some measure, as putting you again in remembrance, because of the grace that was given me of God,

Wherefore I shall be ready always to put you in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the truth which is with you.And I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
