Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort[ you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews[ that] Jesus[ was] Christ.And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook[ his] raiment, and said unto them, Your blood[ be] upon your own heads; I[ am] clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace[ be] unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called[ the synagogue] of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

And they bend their tongues[ like] their bow[ for] lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

So shalt thou put away the[ guilt of] innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do[ that which is] right in the sight of the LORD.

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in[ both] which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know[ them], and be established in the present truth.Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting[ you] in remembrance;Knowing that shortly I must put off[ this] my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God,[ saying], Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
