The Israelites said to the Hivites,“ But perhaps you live near us, so how can we make a treaty with you?”

The Israelites said to the Hivites,“ But suppose you live close to us. If you do, we can’t make a peace treaty with you.”

But the men of Israel said to the Hivites,“ Perhaps you live among us; then how can we make a covenant with you?”

The Israelites replied to these Hivites,“ How do we know you don’t live nearby? For if you do, we cannot make a treaty with you.”

The men of Israel replied to the Hivites,“ Perhaps you live among us. How can we make a treaty with you?”

But the men of Israel said to the Hivites,“ Perhaps you are living within our land; how then are we to make a covenant with you?”

Then the men of Israel said to the Hivites,“ Perhaps you dwell among us; so how can we make a covenant with you?”

And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a covenant with you?

The men of Israel replied to the Hivites,“ Perhaps you live among us. How can we make a treaty with you?”

And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?

The men of Israel said to the Hivites,“ Perhaps you live near us. So how can we make a treaty with you?”

The men of Israel said to the Hivites,“ What if you live among us? How could we make a covenant with you?”

除了基遍的希未人以外，其他没有一城向以色列人求和，以色列人全部攻占了这些城。

你们不可跟这里的居民立约，要毁掉他们的祭坛。’可是你们为什么不听呢？

当你们的上帝耶和华把他们交在你们手里、使你们打败他们后，你们必须彻底毁灭他们。不可与他们立约，不可怜悯他们。不可与他们通婚，不可让你们的儿女与他们的儿女通婚，

我下来是要从埃及人手中救他们，带他们离开那里，到一个辽阔肥沃的奶蜜之乡，就是现在迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人居住的地方。

一定要赶走当地的居民，毁掉他们一切的石像和铸像，拆毁他们所有的丘坛。

当地首领希未人哈抹的儿子示剑看到她，就抓住她，强行玷污了她。

你要谨慎，到了目的地后，不可与当地的居民立约，免得因此而陷入网罗。

住在约旦河西的山区、丘陵以及地中海沿岸、远至黎巴嫩的诸王，就是那些赫人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人的王听说这件事，

你们的上帝耶和华将把你们附近各族的城邑赐给你们，你们要将里面有气息的全部消灭。

我给你定下国界，从红海到非利士海岸，从旷野到幼发拉底河。我要把其中所有的人都交在你手中，你要把他们全部赶出去。不可跟这些民族及其神明立约，也不可让这些民族住在你的土地上，免得他们使你得罪我，你若供奉他们的神明，必因此而陷入网罗。”
