約但西、居山地、居窪地、居對利巴嫩大海濱之諸王、居對利巴嫩大海濱之諸王或作居大海濱至於利巴嫩諸王即赫人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人諸王、既聞斯事、

Now when all the kings west of the Jordan heard about these things— the kings in the hill country, in the western foothills, and along the entire coast of the Mediterranean Sea as far as Lebanon( the kings of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites)—

All the kings who ruled west of the Jordan River heard about the battles Israel had won. That included the kings who ruled in the central hill country and the western hills. It also included those who ruled along the entire coast of the Mediterranean Sea all the way to Lebanon. They were the kings of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

As soon as all the kings who were beyond the Jordan in the hill country and in the lowland all along the coast of the Great Sea toward Lebanon, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, heard of this,

Now all the kings west of the Jordan River heard about what had happened. These were the kings of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who lived in the hill country, in the western foothills, and along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea as far north as the Lebanon mountains.

When all the kings heard about Jericho and Ai, those who were west of the Jordan in the hill country, in the Judean foothills, and all along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea toward Lebanon— the Hethites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—

Now it came about when all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country, the lowland, and on all the coast of the Great Sea toward Lebanon, the Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard about it,

And it came to pass when all the kings who were on this side of the Jordan, in the hills and in the lowland and in all the coasts of the Great Sea toward Lebanon— the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite— heard about it,

When all the kings heard about Jericho and Ai, those who were west of the Jordan in the hill country, in the Judean foothills, and all along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea toward Lebanon— the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—

And it came to pass, when all the kings which[ were] on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard[ thereof];

When the news reached all the kings on the west side of the Jordan– in the hill country, the lowlands, and all along the Mediterranean coast as far as Lebanon( including the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites)–

When all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it

And for the western border, ye shall have the great sea and the border thereof: this shall be your west border.

and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

For mine angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: and I will cut them off.

And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Hivite, and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite.

And the west border was to the great sea, and the border thereof. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

And ye went over the Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I delivered them into your hand.

from mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal- gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and put them to death.

And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.

Behold, I have allotted unto you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun.

And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof: he utterly destroyed them and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done unto the king of Jericho.And Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:and Jehovah delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining in it; and he did unto the king thereof as he had done unto the king of Jericho.And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:and Jehovah delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel; and he took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.And Joshua passed from Lachish, and all Israel with him, unto Eglon; and they encamped against it, and fought against it;and they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword; and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:and they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls that were therein.And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir, and fought against it:and he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to the king thereof.

And I will set thy border from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the River: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand: and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

And these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the children of Israel smote beyond the Jordan westward, from Baal- gad in the valley of Lebanon even unto mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir( and Joshua gave it unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;in the hill- country, and in the lowland, and in the Arabah, and in the slopes, and in the wilderness, and in the South; the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite):the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;the king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lassharon, one;the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;the king of Shimron- meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;the king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;the king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one;the king of Dor in the height of Dor, one; the king of Goiim in Gilgal, one;the king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.

Let me go over, I pray thee, and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.

Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal- gad under mount Hermon unto the entrance of Hamath;

And now Jehovah your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he spake unto them: therefore now turn ye, and get you unto your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan.

that they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.Wherefore Adoni- zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,Come up unto me, and help me, and let us smite Gibeon; for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped against Gibeon, and made war against it.

Now to the one half- tribe of Manasseh Moses had given inheritance in Bashan; but unto the other half gave Joshua among their brethren beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away unto their tents, he blessed them,

and all the Arabah beyond the Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah.

And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over the Jordan.

And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, that were by the sea, heard how that Jehovah had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.

And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard thereof, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,and to the kings that were on the north, in the hill- country, and in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill- country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea- shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.And all these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim,and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.

From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

And Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was none left that breathed: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

When Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

until Jehovah have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising.
