『人若犯罪、有該死的罪案，他被處死了，你將他掛在示眾木上；他的屍體你不可留在示眾木上過夜，總要在當天將他葬埋，因為被掛的人是上帝所咒詛的；這樣、你就不至於使永恆主你的上帝所賜給你以為業的土地蒙不潔。

他向王子身上傾倒下侮辱，使他在荒蕪沒路之地漂流無定。

永恆主將立拿和立拿王也交在以色列人手裏；約書亞用刀擊破了這城，殺了其中一切人口，沒有留下一個殘存的；他處置立拿王就像處置耶利哥王一樣。

主的使者立時擊打希律，因為他不將榮耀歸與上帝，他被蟲子咬，就氣絕了。

那時基色王荷蘭上來幫助拉吉，約書亞把他和他的人民都擊殺了，殺到沒有給他剩下一個殘存的。

於是人將哈曼掛在他為末底改所豫備的示眾木架上；王的烈怒這才消熄。

我主我王在他右邊，當他發怒的日子、他必痛擊列王。

隨後約書亞就擊殺了這五個王，把他們處死，掛在五根示眾木上；他們就在示眾木上直掛到晚上。日落時候、約書亞一吩咐，人就把他們從示眾木上取下來，丟在他們藏匿過的洞裏，把幾塊大石頭放在洞口；那些石頭到今日這一天還在那裏。就在那一天，約書亞就攻取了瑪基大，用刀擊殺了城中的人和王，將他們和其中一切人口、盡行殺滅歸神，沒有留下一個殘存的；他處置瑪基大王、就像處置耶利哥王一樣。

我看見有一位天使站在日頭中、向天頂點上一切飛着的鳥大聲喊着說：『你們來，聚集來赴上帝的大筵席，好喫君王的肉、千夫長的肉、壯士的肉、馬和騎馬者的肉、自主的為奴的、小的大的、眾人的肉。』
