希律沒有把榮耀歸給上帝，主的天使立刻懲罰他，他當場被蟲子咬死了。

基色王何蘭前來支持拉吉，結果也被約書亞殺得一個不剩。

於是，哈曼被吊在他為末底改預備的木架上，王的怒氣這才平息。

主在你身旁保護你，祂發怒的時候，必毀滅列王。

隨後約書亞將這五個王殺死，把屍體分別掛在五棵樹上，直到傍晚。日落時，約書亞才下令把屍體放下，丟在他們先前躲藏的山洞裡，用大石頭堵住洞口，石頭至今還在那裡。約書亞在當天佔領了瑪基大，把瑪基大王和所有的居民都殺了，一個沒留。他對待瑪基大王跟以前對待耶利哥王一樣。

我又看見一位天使站在太陽裡，對空中飛翔的鳥大聲呼喚：「來吧！一起來參加上帝的盛宴，一同享用君王、將軍、勇士、馬匹、騎士、自由人、奴隸和尊卑老少的肉吧！」
