挪亚的日子怎样，人子的日子也要怎样。那时，人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，直到挪亚进方舟的那日，洪水就来，把他们全都灭了。同样，就像在罗得的日子，人又吃又喝，又买又卖，又耕种又建造，到罗得离开所多玛的那日，有火与硫磺从天上降下来，把他们全都灭了。人子显现的日子也要这样。

当日，约书亚夺了玛基大，用刀击杀城中的人和王，把城中所有人完全灭尽，没有留下一个幸存者。他处置玛基大王，像从前处置耶利哥王一样。
