艾城的王看见这景况，就和全城的人，清早急忙起来，按所定的时候，出到亚拉巴前，要与以色列人交战；王却不知道在城后有伏兵。 (cunps)

神却对他说：‘无知的人哪，今夜必要你的灵魂；你所预备的要归谁呢？’凡为自己积财，在神面前却不富足的，也是这样。” (cunps)

他虽积蓄银子如尘沙，预备衣服如泥土；他只管预备，义人却要穿上；他的银子，无辜的人要分取。 (cunps)

耶罗波安却在犹大人的后头设伏兵。这样，以色列人在犹大人的前头，伏兵在犹大人的后头。 (cunps)

耶路撒冷王亚多尼洗德听见约书亚夺了艾城，尽行毁灭，怎样待耶利哥和耶利哥的王，也照样待艾城和艾城的王，又听见基遍的居民与以色列人立了和约，住在他们中间， (cunps)

惟独城中的牲畜和财物，以色列人都取为自己的掠物，是照耶和华所吩咐约书亚的话。约书亚将艾城焚烧，使城永为高堆、荒场，直到今日；又将艾城王挂在树上，直到晚上。日落的时候，约书亚吩咐人把尸首从树上取下来，丢在城门口，在尸首上堆成一大堆石头，直存到今日。 (cunps)

他一伸手，伏兵就从埋伏的地方急忙起来，夺了城，跑进城去，放火焚烧。 (cunps)

那不按正道得财的，好像鹧鸪抱不是自己下的蛋；到了中年，那财都必离开他，他终久成为愚顽人。 (cunps)

以色列人在基比亚的四围设下伏兵。第三日，以色列人又上去攻击便雅悯人，在基比亚前摆阵，与前两次一样。便雅悯人也出来迎敌，就被引诱离城；在田间两条路上，一通伯特利，一通基比亚，像前两次，动手杀死以色列人约有三十个。便雅悯人说：“他们仍旧败在我们面前。”但以色列人说：“我们不如逃跑，引诱他们离开城到路上来。”以色列众人都起来，在巴力他玛摆阵，以色列的伏兵从马利迦巴埋伏的地方冲上前去。 (cunps)

耶和华对我说：‘不要怕他！因我已将他和他的众民，并他的地，都交在你手中；你要待他像从前待住希实本的亚摩利王西宏一样。’ (cunps)

约书亚打发他们前往，他们就上埋伏的地方去，住在伯特利和艾城的中间，就是在艾城的西边。这夜约书亚却在民中住宿。 (cunps)

以色列人在田间和旷野杀尽所追赶一切艾城的居民。艾城人倒在刀下，直到灭尽；以色列众人就回到艾城，用刀杀了城中的人。 (cunps)
