我和所有与我一起的人，要向城推进。城里的人像前一次出来攻击我们的时候，我们就在他们面前逃跑；

全以色列中的精兵，有一万人前来攻打基比亚，战争非常激烈；便雅悯人还不知道灾祸快要临到他们的身上了。耶和华在以色列人面前击败了便雅悯人；那天以色列人消灭便雅悯人，共二万五千一百名，都是拿刀的。这样，便雅悯人就看出自己被击败了。原来以色列人倚靠在基比亚前面设下的伏兵，就对便雅悯人诈败。

他们因为有贪心，就用捏造的话，想在你们身上图利；惩罚他们的，自古以来就没有松懈；毁灭他们的，也不会打盹。

弟兄们，论到时候和日期，不用写什么给你们了。因为你们自己清楚知道，主的日子来到，就像夜间的贼来到一样。人正在说平安稳妥的时候，毁灭性的灾祸就突然临到他们，好像生产的痛苦临到怀胎的妇人一样，他们绝不能逃脱。

琐安的领袖非常愚昧，法老那些最有智慧的谋士所筹算的，都成为愚昧。你们怎能对法老说：“我是智慧人的儿子，是古代君王的后裔”呢？

在他想不到的日子，不知道的时间，那仆人的主人要来，

这话在王的口中还没有说完，就有声音从天上传下来，说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊！有话对你说：你的王权被褫夺了。

原来人并不知道自己的时机，正像鱼被恶网圈住，鸟被网罗捉住，险恶的时机忽然临到世人身上的时候，世人也照样陷在其中。

等到洪水来到，把他们冲去，他们才明白过来；人子降临的时候也是这样。

以下是摩西在约旦河东的旷野，疏弗对面的亚拉巴，就是在巴兰和陀弗、拉班、哈洗录、底撒哈之间，向以色列人所说的话。

琐安的领袖都变为愚昧，挪弗的领袖都受了欺骗；那些在埃及支派中作房角石的，使埃及人走错了路。
