他們貪婪成性，想用花言巧語在你們身上謀利。這種人的刑罰自古已經判定，他們很快就會滅亡。

弟兄姊妹，這件事會在什麼日期、什麼時候發生，不必我寫信告訴你們，因為你們已經清楚知道，將來有一天，主會突然來到，像賊在夜裡忽然出現一樣。當人們正在說一切平安穩妥的時候，災禍會像產痛臨到孕婦一樣突然臨到他們，令他們無法逃脫。

埃及王聰明的謀士——瑣安的首領們變得愚不可及。他們怎敢在埃及王面前自稱是古聖先賢的子孫呢？

主人會在他想不到的日子、不知道的時辰回來，

話未說完，天上就有聲音說：「尼布甲尼撒王啊，你聽著，你已失去王權。

他們懵然不知，直到洪水來把他們全沖走了。人子降臨時的情形也是這樣。

以下是摩西對以色列人說的話。當時以色列人在約旦河東的曠野、疏弗對面的亞拉巴，即巴蘭、陀弗、拉班、哈洗錄和底撒哈之間。

瑣安的首領愚昧，挪弗的首領糊塗。他們是埃及的房角石，卻把埃及人引入歧途。
