他们贪婪成性，想用花言巧语在你们身上谋利。这种人的刑罚自古已经判定，他们很快就会灭亡。

弟兄姊妹，这件事会在什么日期、什么时候发生，不必我写信告诉你们，因为你们已经清楚知道，将来有一天，主会突然来到，像贼在夜里忽然出现一样。当人们正在说一切平安稳妥的时候，灾祸会像产痛临到孕妇一样突然临到他们，令他们无法逃脱。

埃及王聪明的谋士——琐安的首领们变得愚不可及。他们怎敢在埃及王面前自称是古圣先贤的子孙呢？

主人会在他想不到的日子、不知道的时辰回来，

话未说完，天上就有声音说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊，你听着，你已失去王权。

再者，人无法知道何时大难临头。祸患突然临到时，人根本无法摆脱，就像鱼落入险恶的网中，又像鸟儿陷入网罗。

他们懵然不知，直到洪水来把他们全冲走了。人子降临时的情形也是这样。

以下是摩西对以色列人说的话。当时以色列人在约旦河东的旷野、疏弗对面的亚拉巴，即巴兰、陀弗、拉班、哈洗录和底撒哈之间。

琐安的首领愚昧，挪弗的首领糊涂。他们是埃及的房角石，却把埃及人引入歧途。
