The LORD told Joshua,“ See, I am about to defeat Jericho for you, along with its king and its warriors.

The LORD is indeed going before you– he will be with you; he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in him and not fear. For the LORD gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer.”

“ You descendants of Jacob, my servants, do not be afraid; do not be terrified, people of Israel. For I will rescue you and your descendants from the faraway lands where you are captives. The descendants of Jacob will return to their land and enjoy peace. They will be secure and no one will terrify them.

The LORD delivers and vindicates me! I fear no one! The LORD protects my life! I am afraid of no one!

All the inhabitants of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he wishes with the army of heaven and with those who inhabit the earth. No one slaps his hand and says to him,‘ What have you done?’

“ You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has granted you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor.Wherever human beings, wild animals, and birds of the sky live– he has given them into your power. He has given you authority over them all. You are the head of gold.

For they did not conquer the land by their swords, and they did not prevail by their strength, but rather by your power, strength and good favor, for you were partial to them.

When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you– yes, I help you– yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!Look, all who were angry at you will be ashamed and humiliated; your adversaries will be reduced to nothing and perish.When you will look for your opponents, you will not find them; your enemies will be reduced to absolutely nothing.For I am the LORD your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you,‘ Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’Don’t be afraid, despised insignificant Jacob, men of Israel. You will rejoice in the LORD; you will boast in the Holy One of Israel.

The LORD who commands armies is on our side! The God of Jacob is our protector!( Selah)

He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding;

But he said to them,“ Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was dead calm.

When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will turn against us and destroy the very memory of us from the earth. What will you do to protect your great reputation?”

You will be driven from human society, and you will live with the wild animals. You will be fed grass like oxen, and you will become damp with the dew of the sky. Seven periods of time will pass by for you, before you understand that the Most High is ruler over human kingdoms and gives them to whomever he wishes.

Joshua tore his clothes; he and the leaders of Israel lay face down on the ground before the ark of the LORD until evening and threw dirt on their heads.Joshua prayed,“ O, Master, LORD! Why did you bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites so they could destroy us?
