“所以，你要对以色列家说，主耶和华如此说：以色列家啊，我做这事不是为你们，而是为了我的圣名，就是你们在所到的列国中亵渎的。我要使我至大的名显为圣；这名在列国中已遭亵渎，是你们在他们中间亵渎的。我在他们眼前，在你们身上显为圣的时候，他们就知道我是耶和华。这是主耶和华说的。

父啊，愿你荣耀你的名！”于是有声音从天上来，说：“我已经荣耀了我的名，还要再荣耀。”

免得你领我们出来的那地之人说：耶和华因为不能将这百姓领进他所应许之地，又因恨他们，所以领他们出去，要在旷野杀他们。

若不是耶和华帮助我们，当人起来攻击我们，那时，人向我们发怒，就把我们活活吞了；

我这么做是为了我名的缘故，免得我的名在他们所居住之列国眼中被亵渎；我曾在这些列国眼前向他们显现，领他们出了埃及地。

摩西对耶和华说：“埃及人必听见，因你曾施展大能，领这百姓从他们中间出来。

我曾说，我要粉碎他们，使他们的名从人间消失。惟恐仇敌挑衅，他们的敌人误解，说，我们的手得胜了，这一切并非耶和华做的。’

我们与我们的祖宗一同犯罪，偏邪行恶。我们的祖宗在埃及不明白你的奇事，不记念你丰盛的慈爱，反倒在红海行了悖逆。然而，他因自己的名拯救他们，为要彰显他的大能。
