The Canaanites and the other people of the country will hear about this and they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. What then will you do for your own great name?”

The Canaanites will hear about it. So will everyone else in the country. They will surround us. They’ll erase any mention of our name from the face of the earth. Then what will you do when people don’t honor your great name anymore?”

For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and cut off our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?”

让事奉耶和华的祭司站在圣殿门廊和祭坛中间，哭泣恳求说：“耶和华啊，求你顾惜你的子民，不要让外族人侮辱、讥笑你的产业说，‘你们的上帝在哪里呢？’”

“因此，你要告诉以色列人，主耶和华这样说，‘以色列人啊，我要行这事并非因为你们的缘故，而是因为我圣名的缘故，就是你们在所去列国亵渎的圣名。我要使我伟大的名，就是你们在列国中所亵渎的名，彰显它的圣洁。我要当着列国的面在你们身上彰显我的圣洁，那时他们就知道我是耶和华。这是主耶和华说的。

父啊！愿你使自己的名得荣耀！”当时天上有声音说：“我已使自己的名得了荣耀，并且还要得荣耀。”

免得你带领我们离开之地的人说，你不能把他们领到你应许给他们的地方，你憎恶他们，所以把他们带到旷野杀了。

若不是耶和华帮助我们，仇敌起来攻击我们、向我们发怒的时候，我们早已被他们生吞，

但我没有这样做，以免我的名在他们寄居的列邦面前被亵渎。因为列邦亲眼看见我向以色列人显现，把他们带出埃及。

摩西对耶和华说：“你曾经用大能把以色列人从埃及领出来，埃及人听说这事后，

我本要消灭他们，使世人忘记他们；但我不愿让敌人夸口，宣称这是他们的胜利，而非我的作为。’

我们跟祖先一样也犯了罪，行事邪恶。我们祖先在埃及漠视你行的神迹，忘记你向他们屡施慈爱，在红海边反叛你。但祂为了自己的名拯救了他们，以彰显祂的大能。
