Joshua prayed,“ O, Master, LORD! Why did you bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites so they could destroy us?

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这百姓过约旦河，把我们交在亚摩利人手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们不如住在约旦河的那边！

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这百姓过约旦河，把我们交在亚摩利人手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们不如住在约旦河的那边！

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你让我们过了约旦河，为什么把我们交在亚摩利人手上，让他们毁灭我们呢？倒不如让我们住在约旦河对岸！

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这人民过约旦河，为要把我们交在亚摩利人的手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们宁愿住在约旦河那边倒好。

約書亞說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你為甚麼竟領這百姓過約旦河，將我們交在亞摩利人的手中，使我們滅亡呢？我們不如住在約旦河那邊倒好。

約書亞說：「唉！主耶和華啊，你為甚麼領這百姓過約旦河，把我們交在亞摩利人手中，使我們滅亡呢？我們不如住在約旦河的那邊！

約書亞說：「唉！主耶和華啊，你為甚麼領這百姓過約旦河，把我們交在亞摩利人手中，使我們滅亡呢？我們不如住在約旦河的那邊！

約書亞說：「唉！主耶和華啊，你讓我們過了約旦河，為什麼把我們交在亞摩利人手上，讓他們毀滅我們呢？倒不如讓我們住在約旦河對岸！

約書亞說：“唉！主耶和華啊，你為甚麼領這人民過約旦河，為要把我們交在亞摩利人的手中，使我們滅亡呢？我們寧願住在約旦河那邊倒好。

約書亞說：『哀啊，主永恆主啊，你為甚麼竟領這人民過約但河、將我們交在亞摩利人手中、使我們滅亡呢？巴不得我們住在約但河東那邊倒還甘心呢！

約書亞曰、噫、主耶和華歟、何為導斯民過約但、付我於亞摩利人手、以滅我乎、我願仍居約但東為幸、

約書亞曰、我主耶和華與、曷導斯民濟約但、付於亞摩哩人手、使我危亡乎。不如我仍居約但東為幸。

約書亞禱曰、主天主歟、何導斯民過約但、付我於亞摩利人手、使我滅亡乎、不如我仍居約但東為幸、

And Joshua said,“ Alas, Sovereign Lord, why did you ever bring this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us? If only we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan!

Joshua said,“ Lord and King, why did you ever bring these people across the Jordan River? Did you want to hand us over to the Amorites? Did you want them to destroy us? I wish we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan!

And Joshua said,“ Alas, O Lord God, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to give us into the hands of the Amorites, to destroy us? Would that we had been content to dwell beyond the Jordan!

Then Joshua cried out,“ Oh, Sovereign Lord, why did you bring us across the Jordan River if you are going to let the Amorites kill us? If only we had been content to stay on the other side!

“ Oh, Lord GOD,” Joshua said,“ why did you ever bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites for our destruction? If only we had been content to remain on the other side of the Jordan!

And Joshua said,“ Oh, Lord God! Why did You ever bring this people across the Jordan, only to hand us over to the Amorites, to eliminate us? If only we had been willing to live beyond the Jordan!

And Joshua said,“ Alas, Lord GOD, why have You brought this people over the Jordan at all— to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh, that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan!

And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord Jehovah, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? would that we had been content and dwelt beyond the Jordan!

“ Oh, Lord God,” Joshua said,“ why did You ever bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites for our destruction? If only we had been content to remain on the other side of the Jordan!

And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!

Joshua said,“ Alas, Lord Yahweh, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? I wish that we had been content and lived beyond the Jordan!

The king of Israel said,“ Oh no! Certainly the LORD has summoned these three kings so that he can hand them over to the king of Moab!”

Why has the LORD brought us into this land only to be killed by the sword, that our wives and our children should become plunder? Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”

He told them,“ It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you.”

and they said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the desert? What in the world have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt,‘ Leave us alone so that we can serve the Egyptians, because it is better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!’”

LORD, you have always been fair whenever I have complained to you. However, I would like to speak with you about the disposition of justice. Why are wicked people successful? Why do all dishonest people have such easy lives?You plant them like trees and they put down their roots. They grow prosperous and are very fruitful. They always talk about you, but they really care nothing about you.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Get ready! Cross the Jordan River! Lead these people into the land which I am ready to hand over to them.I am handing over to you every place you set foot, as I promised Moses.Your territory will extend from the wilderness in the south to Lebanon in the north. It will extend all the way to the great River Euphrates in the east( including all of Syria) and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.

But the people were very thirsty there for water, and they murmured against Moses and said,“ Why in the world did you bring us up out of Egypt– to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?”

When he learned of this, Jesus said to them,“ Why are you arguing about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Have your hearts been hardened?Though you have eyes, don’t you see? And though you have ears, can’t you hear? Don’t you remember?

I rashly declared,“ All men are liars.”

Why have you brought up the LORD’s community into this wilderness? So that we and our cattle should die here?Why have you brought us up from Egypt only to bring us to this dreadful place? It is no place for grain, or figs, or vines, or pomegranates; nor is there any water to drink!”

Moses returned to the LORD, and said,“ Lord, why have you caused trouble for this people? Why did you ever send me?From the time I went to speak to Pharaoh in your name, he has caused trouble for this people, and you have certainly not rescued them!”

The Israelites said to them,“ If only we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this desert to kill this whole assembly with hunger!”

Jesus answered,“ You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him here to me.”

And have you forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons?“ My son, do not scorn the Lord’s discipline or give up when he corrects you.
