他們的境界、北邊是從約但河起，那界線上到耶利哥阪坡北面，又往西上去，通過山地，其終點是伯亞文曠野。

以色列啊，你雖然行淫，別讓猶大「有罪」哦。不要往吉甲去，不要上伯亞文，也不要指着永活的永恆主來起誓。

非利士人聚集了來、要同以色列人交戰；有車三千輛，駿馬六千，步兵像海邊的沙那麼多；他們上來，在伯亞文東邊、密抹紮營。

那一天永恆主使以色列人得勝，一直戰到伯和崙。

你要憑着智謀去作戰；謀士多，便得勝。

從那裏他又往前進，到伯特利東邊的山搭帳棚。西邊是伯特利，東邊是艾，在那裏他又給永恆主築了一座壇，呼求永恆主的名。

就給那地方起名叫伯特利；那城的名字原來叫做路斯。

他們的王一個是耶利哥王，一個是伯特利旁邊的艾王，

所以要仔細留意、你們怎樣地行；不要做無智慧的，總要做有智慧的人。

於是嫩的兒子約書亞從什亭暗暗打發兩個人做偵探，說：『你們去察看那地、尤其是耶利哥。』二人就去，來到一個廟妓女、名叫喇合的、家裏，就在那裏住宿。
