So Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, honor the LORD God of Israel and give him praise! Tell me what you did; don’t hide anything from me!”

Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, the Lord is the God of Israel. So give him glory and honor him by telling the truth! Tell me what you have done. Don’t hide it from me.”

Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel and give praise to him. And tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, by telling the truth. Make your confession and tell me what you have done. Don’t hide it from me.”

So Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, and make a confession to him. I urge you, tell me what you have done. Don’t hide anything from me.”

Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, I implore you, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and give praise to Him; and tell me now what you have done. Do not hide it from me.”

Now Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, I beg you, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to Jehovah, the God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.

So Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and make a confession to Him. I urge you, tell me what you have done. Don’t hide anything from me.”

And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide[ it] not from me.

Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, please give glory to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and make confession to him. Tell me now what you have done! Don’t hide it from me!”

You should make images of the sores and images of the mice that are destroying the land. You should honor the God of Israel. Perhaps he will release his grip on you, your gods, and your land.

Show the LORD your God the respect that is due him. Do it before he brings the darkness of disaster. Do it before you stumble into distress like a traveler on the mountains at twilight. Do it before he turns the light of deliverance you hope for into the darkness and gloom of exile.

So Saul said to Jonathan,“ Tell me what you have done.” Jonathan told him,“ I used the end of the staff that was in my hand to taste a little honey. I must die!”

Then they summoned the man who used to be blind a second time and said to him,“ Promise before God to tell the truth. We know that this man is a sinner.”

Hezekiah expressed his appreciation to all the Levites, who demonstrated great skill in serving the LORD. They feasted for the seven days of the festival, and were making peace offerings and giving thanks to the LORD God of their ancestors.

I prayed to the LORD my God, confessing in this way:“ O Lord, great and awesome God who is faithful to his covenant with those who love him and keep his commandments,

“ Tell the Israelites,‘ When a man or a woman commits any sin that people commit, thereby breaking faith with the LORD, and that person is found guilty,then he must confess his sin that he has committed and must make full reparation, add one fifth to it, and give it to whomever he wronged.

Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Thus people were scorched by the terrible heat, yet they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authority over these plagues, and they would not repent and give him glory.

Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them,“ You have behaved in an unfaithful manner by taking foreign wives! This has contributed to the guilt of Israel.Now give praise to the LORD God of your fathers, and do his will. Separate yourselves from the local residents and from these foreign wives.”

correcting opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance and then knowledge of the truth

The one who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses them and forsakes them will find mercy.

For I am aware of my rebellious acts; I am forever conscious of my sin.

“ Go and shout this message to my people in the countries in the north. Tell them,‘ Come back to me, wayward Israel,’ says the LORD.‘ I will not continue to look on you with displeasure. For I am merciful,’ says the LORD.‘ I will not be angry with you forever.However, you must confess that you have done wrong, and that you have rebelled against the LORD your God. You must confess that you have given yourself to foreign gods under every green tree, and have not obeyed my commands,’ says the LORD.

Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble.Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead bless others because you were called to inherit a blessing.

For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation.

Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said,“ I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD.” And then you forgave my sins.( Selah)

They said to him,“ Tell us, whose fault is it that this disaster has overtaken us? What’s your occupation? Where do you come from? What’s your country? And who are your people?”He said to them,“ I am a Hebrew! And I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”Hearing this, the men became even more afraid and said to him,“ What have you done?”( The men said this because they knew that he was trying to escape from the LORD, because he had previously told them.)

In his pain Manasseh asked the LORD his God for mercy and truly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.When he prayed to the LORD, the LORD responded to him and answered favorably his cry for mercy. The LORD brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh realized that the LORD is the true God.

For human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.

I will make human beings more scarce than pure gold, and people more scarce than gold from Ophir.

Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self- controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.
