Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

Now Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, I beg you, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to Jehovah, the God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.

So Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and make a confession to Him. I urge you, tell me what you have done. Don’t hide anything from me.”

And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide[ it] not from me.

So Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, honor the LORD God of Israel and give him praise! Tell me what you did; don’t hide anything from me!”

Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, please give glory to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and make confession to him. Tell me now what you have done! Don’t hide it from me!”

所以，你們要製作金毒瘡和毀壞田地的老鼠的像，尊崇以色列的上帝，也許祂會放過你們、你們的神明及田地。

回來讚美稱頌上帝的只有這個外族人嗎？」

人們被炙熱灼傷，就褻瀆掌管這些災禍的上帝的名，他們毫無悔意，不肯歸榮耀給上帝。

以斯拉祭司站起來對他們說：「你們對上帝不忠，娶外族的女子為妻，加重了以色列的罪惡。現在，你們要向你們祖先的上帝耶和華認罪，遵行祂的旨意，與這地方的人和你們的外族妻子斷絕關係。」

要溫柔地規勸那些反對我們的人，也許上帝會賜給他們悔改的心，使他們明白真理，

自掩其罪，必不亨通；痛改前非，必蒙憐憫。

我知道自己的過犯，我的罪惡一直縈繞眼前。

你去向北方宣告，『耶和華說，不忠貞的以色列啊，回轉吧！我必不向你們發怒，因為我充滿慈愛，不會永遠懷怒。』這是耶和華說的。『你必須要承認自己的罪，承認背叛了你的上帝耶和華，在綠蔭樹下祭拜各種外邦的神明，不聽從我的話。』這是耶和華說的。

總而言之，你們要同心合意，互相關懷，彼此相愛，仁慈謙虛。不要以惡報惡，以辱駡還辱駡，反要祝福對方，這是你們蒙召的目的，好叫你們得到祝福。

因為人心裡相信，就可以被稱為義人，口裡承認，就可以得救。

我向你承認自己的罪，不再隱瞞自己的惡。我說：「我要向耶和華認罪。」你就赦免了我。（細拉）

眾人問他：「請告訴我們，這場災難是誰惹來的？你是做什麼的？從哪裡來？是哪一國、哪一族的人？」約拿回答說：「我是希伯來人，我敬畏耶和華，祂是創造海洋陸地、掌管諸天的上帝。」之後，他就把怎樣逃避耶和華的事告訴他們。眾人知道後，萬分恐懼，問他：「你怎麼做出這種事？」

在困苦中，瑪拿西祈求他的上帝耶和華的幫助，並且在他祖先的上帝面前極其謙卑。耶和華應允他的禱告，垂聽他的懇求，使他返回耶路撒冷繼續做王。瑪拿西這才明白耶和華是上帝。

因為人的憤怒不能成就上帝的公義。
