因為你不是喜愛邪惡的神，惡人不能與你同住。狂傲的人不能站在你眼前；凡作惡的，都是你所恨惡的。

惡人雖無人追趕也逃跑；義人卻膽壯像獅子。

他們縱然將兒女養大，我卻要使他們喪子，一個也不留。我離棄他們，他們就有禍了。

耶路撒冷啊，當受管教，免得我心與你生疏，免得我使你荒涼，成為無人居住之地。」

你不可把可憎之物帶進你的家，否則，你就像它一樣成為當毀滅的。你要徹底憎恨它，極其厭惡它，因為這是當毀滅的。」

你的眼目清潔，不看邪惡，也不看奸惡，為何你卻看着人行詭詐呢？惡人吞滅比自己公義的人，為何你保持沉默呢？

哈該又說：「若有人因摸屍體染了不潔淨，然後接觸任何東西，這東西就變為不潔淨嗎？」祭司回答說：「必不潔淨。」於是哈該說：「耶和華說，在我面前這民如此，這國也是如此；他們手裏的各樣工作都是如此；他們在那裏所獻的都不潔淨。」

無論是這百姓、是先知、是祭司，問你說：「耶和華有甚麼默示呢？」你就對他們說：「甚麼默示啊？我已撇棄你們了。這是耶和華說的。」

但你們的罪孽使你們與神隔絕，你們的罪惡使他轉臉不聽你們。

耶和華的使者向以色列眾人說這些話的時候，百姓放聲大哭。

你們今日竟然離棄耶和華不跟從他！你們今日既然悖逆耶和華，明日他必向以色列全會眾發怒。若你們認為所得為業之地不潔淨，可以過來，到耶和華之地，就是耶和華的帳幕所居住之地，在我們中間得地業。你們卻不可悖逆耶和華，也不可背叛我們，在耶和華－我們神的壇以外為自己築壇。從前謝拉的曾孫亞干豈不是在那當滅的物上犯了罪，導致憤怒臨到以色列全會眾嗎？死在他所犯的罪中的，不只是他一個人而已！』」
