因為你不是喜悅惡事的神，惡人不能與你同居。狂傲人不能站在你眼前；凡作孽的，都是你所恨惡的。

惡人雖無人追趕也逃跑；義人卻膽壯像獅子。

縱然養大兒女，我卻必使他們喪子，甚至不留一個。我離棄他們，他們就有禍了。

耶路撒冷啊，你當受教，免得我心與你生疏，免得我使你荒涼，成為無人居住之地。

可憎的物，你不可帶進家去；不然，你就成了當毀滅的，與那物一樣。你要十分厭惡，十分憎嫌，因為這是當毀滅的物。」

你眼目清潔，不看邪僻，不看奸惡；行詭詐的，你為何看着不理呢？惡人吞滅比自己公義的，你為何靜默不語呢？

哈該又說：「若有人因摸死屍染了污穢，然後挨着這些物的哪一樣，這物算污穢嗎？」祭司說：「必算污穢。」於是哈該說：「耶和華說：這民這國，在我面前也是如此；他們手下的各樣工作都是如此；他們在壇上所獻的也是如此。」

「無論是百姓，是先知，是祭司，問你說：『耶和華有甚麼默示呢？』你就對他們說：『甚麼默示啊？耶和華說：我要撇棄你們。』

但你們的罪孽使你們與神隔絕；你們的罪惡使他掩面不聽你們。

耶和華的使者向以色列眾人說這話的時候，百姓就放聲而哭；

你們今日竟轉去不跟從耶和華嗎？你們今日既悖逆耶和華，明日他必向以色列全會眾發怒。你們所得為業之地，若嫌不潔淨，就可以過到耶和華之地，就是耶和華的帳幕所住之地，在我們中間得地業。只是不可悖逆耶和華，也不可得罪我們，在耶和華－我們神的壇以外為自己築壇。從前謝拉的曾孫亞干豈不是在那當滅的物上犯了罪，就有忿怒臨到以色列全會眾嗎？那人在所犯的罪中不獨一人死亡。」
