他们回答约书亚说：“因为确实有人告诉你的仆人，耶和华—你的上帝曾吩咐他的仆人摩西，把这全地赐给你们，并要在你们面前除灭这地所有的居民。我们因你们的缘故很怕自己丧命，就做了这事。现在，看哪，我们在你手中，你看怎样待我们是好的，是对的，就这样做吧！”

当耶和华—你的上帝把他们交给你，你击杀他们的时候，你要完全消灭他们，不可与他们立约，也不可怜惜他们。不可与他们结亲；不可将你的女儿嫁给他的儿子，也不可叫你的儿子娶他的女儿。

现在你要去攻打亚玛力人，灭尽他们所有的，不可怜惜他们，将男女、孩童、吃奶的，以及牛、羊、骆驼和驴全都杀死。’”

你要吞灭耶和华—你的上帝交给你的各民族，你的眼目不可顾惜他们。你也不可事奉他们的神明，因为这必成为你的圈套。
