他们回答约书亚说：“因为有人实在告诉你的仆人，耶和华你的神曾吩咐他的仆人摩西，把这全地赐给你们，并在你们面前灭绝这地的一切居民，所以我们为你们的缘故甚怕丧命，就行了这事。现在我们在你手中，你以怎样待我们为善为正，就怎样做吧！”

耶和华你神将他们交给你击杀，那时你要把他们灭绝净尽，不可与他们立约，也不可怜恤他们。不可与他们结亲。不可将你的女儿嫁他们的儿子，也不可叫你的儿子娶他们的女儿；

我们夺了他的一切城邑，将有人烟的各城，连女人带孩子，尽都毁灭，没有留下一个。

但这些国民的城，耶和华你神既赐你为业，其中凡有气息的，一个不可存留；只要照耶和华你神所吩咐的将这赫人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人都灭绝净尽，

生擒了亚玛力王亚甲，用刀杀尽亚玛力的众民。

耶和华差遣你，吩咐你说，你去击打那些犯罪的亚玛力人，将他们灭绝净尽。你为何没有听从耶和华的命令，急忙掳掠财物，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事呢？”

那些城邑所有的财物和牲畜，以色列人都取为自己的掠物；惟有一切人口都用刀击杀，直到杀尽；凡有气息的没有留下一个。

现在你要去击打亚玛力人，灭尽他们所有的，不可怜惜他们，将男女、孩童、吃奶的，并牛、羊、骆驼，和驴尽行杀死。’”

耶和华你神所要交给你的一切人民，你要将他们除灭；你眼不可顾惜他们。你也不可侍奉他们的神，因这必成为你的网罗。
