The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent.

In the same way, was Rahab the prostitute not justified by works also when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?

However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary,“ The person who performs them will live by them.”

And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;

Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion, For I will make your horn iron, And I will make your hoofs bronze, So that you may pulverize many peoples, And dedicate to the Lord their unjust profit, And their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

By faith the prostitute Rahab did not perish along with those who were disobedient, after she had welcomed the spies in peace.

But the sons of Israel acted unfaithfully regarding the things designated for destruction, for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, took some of the designated things; therefore the anger of the Lord burned against the sons of Israel.

So they departed and came to the hill country, and remained there for three days, until the pursuers returned. Now the pursuers had searched for them all along the road, but had not found them.

And Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land,“ Go into the prostitute’s house and bring the woman and all she has out of there, just as you have sworn to her.”So the young men who were spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all she had; they also brought out all her relatives, and placed them outside the camp of Israel.

But Saul said to the Kenites,“ Go, get away, go down from among the Amalekites, so that I do not destroy you along with them; for you showed kindness to all the sons of Israel when they went up from Egypt.” So the Kenites got away from among the Amalekites.

Then Joshua the son of Nun sent two men as spies secretly from Shittim, saying,“ Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab, and rested there.

If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha!

The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

‘ Nevertheless, anything which someone sets apart to the Lord for destruction out of all that he has, of man or animal or of the field of his own property, shall not be sold nor redeemed. Anything set apart for destruction is most holy to the Lord.No one who may have been set apart among mankind shall be ransomed; he must be put to death.

But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them, and she said,“ Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from.It came about, when it was time to shut the gate at dark, that the men went out; I do not know where the men went. Pursue them quickly, for you will overtake them.”But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them in the stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof.

So Israel made a vow to the Lord and said,“ If You will indeed hand over this people to me, then I will utterly destroy their cities.”The Lord heard the voice of Israel and turned over the Canaanites; then they utterly destroyed them and their cities. And the place was named Hormah.

and that whoever did not come within three days, in accordance with the counsel of the leaders and the elders, all his property would be forfeited, and he himself would be excluded from the assembly of the exiles.
