西坡拉就拿一塊火石，割下他兒子的陽皮，讓他觸着摩西的下體，說：『你就是我的出血新郎了！』

惟獨那在心裏面做猶太人的、才是真的猶太人。那屬於心的割禮、才是真的割禮——本着靈、不本着典籍的。這種人之受稱讚、不是由於人，乃是由於上帝。

在他裏面你們也藉着非人手行的割禮、由脫掉屬肉之身體的割禮、基督式的割禮、而受了割禮。

所以你們要給你們的心行割禮，不可再硬着脖子。

你們中間所有的男子都要受割禮：這就是我的約，在我與你們以及你以後的苗裔之間所立的，就是你們所應當守的。你們包皮的肉都要受割禮：這就要做我與你們之間所立的約的憑證。你們中間世世代代的一切男子，無論是家裏生的，是用銀子從外人買來的，就是不屬於你後裔的、生下來八天，都要受割禮。你家裏生的，和你的銀子買來的、都一定要受割禮：這樣，我的約就在你們肉身上做永遠的約了。但不受割禮的男子，就是他包皮的肉沒有受割禮的，那人就必須從他的族人中被剪除：他是違背了我的約的。』

永恆主你的上帝必給你的心和你後裔的心行割禮，使你全心全意愛永恆主你的上帝，使你得以活着，

他領受了割禮為象徵，做沒受割禮時因信而稱的義的印記，好使他做一切沒受割禮而信的人的父，（叫義可以算為他們的），
