And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day.When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.Then he said,“ Let me go, for the day has broken.” But Jacob said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”And he said to him,“ What is your name?” And he said,“ Jacob.”Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” But he said,“ Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him.So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying,“ For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.”

“ I saw in the night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse! He was standing among the myrtle trees in the glen, and behind him were red, sorrel, and white horses.

And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,

Then the Lord commanded the angel, and he put his sword back into its sheath.

And David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, and in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.And David said to God,“ Was it not I who gave command to number the people? It is I who have sinned and done great evil. But these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O Lord my God, be against me and against my father’s house. But do not let the plague be on your people.”

Then Manoah prayed to the Lord and said,“ O Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us and teach us what we are to do with the child who will be born.”And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field. But Manoah her husband was not with her.

And the Lord said to Joshua,“ See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor.

I raised my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram standing on the bank of the canal. It had two horns, and both horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last.

And Jacob lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, Esau was coming, and four hundred men with him. So he divided the children among Leah and Rachel and the two female servants.

And Manoah said to his wife,“ We shall surely die, for we have seen God.”

And when Esau lifted up his eyes and saw the women and children, he said,“ Who are these with you?” Jacob said,“ The children whom God has graciously given your servant.”

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come to me in friendship to help me, my heart will be joined to you; but if to betray me to my adversaries, although there is no wrong in my hands, then may the God of our fathers see and rebuke you.”Then the Spirit clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, and he said,“ We are yours, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” Then David received them and made them officers of his troops.

and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest.
