厥後若爾子孫詰爾、行此曷故、爾宜告之、耶和華以大能導我出埃及、脫我於賤役、

亦立我安息日、於我及彼之間為徵、俾知我乃耶和華、使之成聖。

耶和華之巨能異跡、我列祖所流傳、余聞而知之、必告後世之子孫兮。

告以色列族云、必守我安息日、於爾我間、歷世為徵、則知我乃耶和華、使爾成聖。

歷代當誌是日、必守節期、以奉事我耶和華永著為例。

今我年邁、皓然白首、毋我遐棄、我將以爾能力、訓誨斯世、爰及後人兮、

如爾子孫、問曷故行是。當曰、昔耶和華擊埃及人時、逾越我第宅、拯我眷聚、是以守逾越節、奉耶和華。

誨爾子女、或處室、或在途、或寢或興、以此為訓。

耶和華以大能導爾曹出埃及、故其法律、必述於爾口、錄於爾手、服於爾顙、誌之勿失。

越至後日、倘爾子詰爾曰、我上帝耶和華所諭之誡命、法度禮儀、其意何居。爾必曰、我昔在埃及為法老服役、耶和華施其大能、導我出彼、

上帝兮、粵若古昔、爾行異跡兮、維予列祖、傳之於予、予聞而知之兮、

但在爾我間、及爾後代我後代間為證、使我役事耶和華、獻燔祭禮物、酬恩之祭於其前、則爾子孫不得謂我子孫云、汝與耶和華無與。

人雖犯法、自殞厥命、然其鼎嘗奉於我、故得成聖、當取其銅、擣之使薄、以飾祭壇、為以色列族、垂戒於後。

生者能頌美爾、余今得生、揄揚爾名、維爾真實無妄、父言之、子聞之、世傳勿替。

松柏挺生、以代叢棘、岡拈秀發、以代荊榛、我耶和華留其異跡於後、永為記誌、歷世勿替。

守我安息日、可為爾我間作徵、俾知我乃耶和華、爾之上帝。

蓋所許者歸爾曹、貽於子孫、施及遠人、即主我之上帝、所召者也、
