He did it so that all the nations on earth would know that he is powerful. He did it so that you would always have respect for the Lord your God.”

Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.

But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.

so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.

At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet—

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

No one is like you, Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.Who should not fear you, King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise leaders of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you.

In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.

“ I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.“ For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end.He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said,“ Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.”

Moses said to the people,“ Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”

I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.

At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation.All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him:“ What have you done?”

Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted,“ Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire,and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.Then Nebuchadnezzar said,“ Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way.”

Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.
