今天耶和华必把你交在我手中，我要击杀你，从你身上砍下你的头。今天我还要把非利士军兵的尸首给天空的飞鸟和地上的野兽。这样全地都会知道：以色列中有一位神；

在圣者的会中，他是大受敬畏的神；他比他四围的一切都更可畏。

现在我发出命令，在我国的一切权柄之下，人人都要在但以理的神面前恐惧战兢——因为他是永生的神，他永远长存，他的国度不会毁灭，他的权柄没有穷尽！他拯救人、解救人，在天上地下施行神迹奇事，他拯救了但以理脱离狮子的爪。”

那些日子结束了，我尼布甲尼撒举目望天，我的理智回到我身上。我就颂赞至高者，称赞、尊崇永远活着的那一位——他的权柄是永远的权柄，他的国度世世代代长存！地上所有的居民都算为无有，他照着自己的旨意对待天上的众军和地上的居民。没有人能拦住他的手，或对他说：“你做什么？”

于是，尼布甲尼撒靠近烈火燃烧的窑门，开口说：“至高神的仆人沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥，你们出来，到这里来吧！”沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥就从烈火中出来了。那些行政官、总长、省长和王的谋士们都聚集过来，看到这三个人——烈火无力伤他们的身体，他们的头发没有烧焦，他们的长袍没有变化，他们身上也没有火烧的气味。尼布甲尼撒就开口说：“沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥的神是当受颂赞的！他派遣他的使者拯救了他的仆人们；他们信靠神，违抗王的命令，甚至舍弃己身，除了自己的神以外，不事奉、不膜拜任何其他神明。因此我发出命令：所有的民族、国家、语言群体中，谁说话冒犯了沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥的神，谁就必被千刀万剐，他的家必变为一堆废墟，因为没有别的神能这样解救人。”
