Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant:‘ When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’”

Speak to the priests who carry the ark of the covenant. Tell them,‘ When you reach the edge of the Jordan River, go into the water and stand there.’ ”

And as for you, command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant,‘ When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’”

Give this command to the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant:‘ When you reach the banks of the Jordan River, take a few steps into the river and stop there.’”

吩咐百姓說：「當你們看見利未家的祭司抬着耶和華－你們神的約櫃的時候，你們就要起行離開所住的地方，跟着約櫃走，

抬耶和華約櫃的祭司在約旦河中的乾地上穩穩站着，以色列眾人都從乾地上過去，直到全國都過了約旦河。

摩西對百姓說：「不要怕，要站穩，看耶和華今天向你們所要施行的拯救，因為你們今天所看見的埃及人必永遠不再看見了。

希西家吩咐在壇上獻燔祭，開始獻燔祭的時候，他們就唱讚美耶和華的歌，吹號，並用以色列王大衛的樂器伴奏。

神也按手在猶大人身上，使他們一心遵行王與眾領袖照着耶和華的話所發的命令。

大衛召來撒督和亞比亞他二位祭司，以及利未人烏列、亞帥雅、約珥、示瑪雅、以利業、亞米拿達，對他們說：「你們是利未人的族長，你們和你們的弟兄應當使自己分別為聖，好將耶和華－以色列神的約櫃接到我所預備的地方。

他召祭司和利未人來，聚集在東邊的廣場，對他們說：「利未人哪，當聽我說：現在你們要將自己分別為聖，又將耶和華－你們列祖神的殿分別為聖，從聖所中除去污穢之物。因我們的祖先犯了罪，行耶和華－我們神眼中看為惡的事，離棄他，轉臉背向耶和華的居所。他們又封鎖走廊的門，吹滅燈火，不在聖所中向以色列的神燒香，或獻燔祭。耶和華的憤怒臨到猶大和耶路撒冷，使他們恐懼，令人驚駭，使人嗤笑，正如你們親眼所見的。看哪，我們的祖宗倒在刀下，我們的妻子兒女也為此被擄掠。現在我心中有意與耶和華－以色列的神立約，好使他的烈怒轉離我們。我的眾子啊，現在不要懈怠；因為耶和華揀選你們站在他面前事奉他，作他的僕人，向他燒香。」

我吩咐利未人潔淨自己來守城門，使安息日分別為聖。我的神啊，求你因這事記念我，照你豐盛的慈愛憐憫我。

利未人的族長是哈沙比雅、示利比、甲篾的兒子耶書亞，他們的弟兄站在他們的對面，照神人大衛的命令按着班次讚美稱謝。瑪他尼、八布迦、俄巴底亞、米書蘭、達們、亞谷是門口的守衛，在庫房的門口站崗。這些人都在約撒達的孫子，耶書亞的兒子約雅金和尼希米省長，以及以斯拉祭司文士的時代供職。為耶路撒冷城牆行奉獻禮的時候，眾人把各處的利未人召到耶路撒冷，要以稱謝、歌唱、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，喜樂地行奉獻禮。歌唱的人從耶路撒冷的周圍聚集，從尼陀法人的村莊、

希西家向祭司和利未人查問這些堆積物。撒督家的亞撒利雅祭司長告訴他說：「自從禮物開始送到耶和華的殿以來，我們不但吃飽，而且剩下的很多；因為耶和華賜福給他的百姓，所剩下的才這樣豐盛。」

跟他們一同去的有利未人示瑪雅、尼探雅、西巴第雅、亞撒黑、示米拉末、約拿單、亞多尼雅、多比雅、駝‧巴多尼雅；跟他們一同的又有以利沙瑪和約蘭二位祭司。他們在猶大教導，帶着耶和華的律法書，走遍猶大各城教導百姓。

以利亞實大祭司的孫子，耶何耶大的一個兒子是和倫人參巴拉的女婿，我就把他從我這裏趕出去。

人仰望耶和華，安靜等候他的救恩，這是好的。

希西家王與眾領袖吩咐利未人用大衛和亞薩先見的詩詞頌讚耶和華，他們歡歡喜喜地頌讚，低頭敬拜。

他們聚集他們的弟兄，將自己分別為聖，照着耶和華的話和王的吩咐，進去潔淨耶和華的殿。

王分派祭司各盡其職，又勉勵他們辦耶和華殿中的事。他對那歸耶和華為聖、教導以色列眾人的利未人說：「你們將聖約櫃安放在以色列王大衛兒子所羅門建造的殿裏，不必再用肩扛抬。現在你們要服事耶和華－你們的神和他的百姓以色列。你們應當按着父家，照着班次，遵照以色列王大衛和他兒子所羅門所寫的，預備自己。要按着你們百姓的弟兄、父家的班次，侍立在聖所；每父家的班次中要有幾個利未人。要宰逾越節的羔羊，將自己分別為聖，為你們的弟兄預備，好遵守耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的話。」
