吩咐人民说：“你们看见耶和华你们的神的约柜，又看见抬约柜的利未支派的祭司的时候，就要从你们所住的地方出发，跟在约柜后面走。

giving orders to the people:“ When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.

They gave orders to the people. They said,“ Watch for the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God. The priests, who are Levites, will be carrying it. When you see it, you must move out from where you are and follow it.

and commanded the people,“ As soon as you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from your place and follow it.

giving these instructions to the people:“ When you see the Levitical priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord your God, move out from your positions and follow them.

and commanded the people,“ When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God carried by the Levitical priests, you are to break camp and follow it.

and they commanded the people, saying,“ When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.

and they commanded the people, saying,“ When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.

摩西把这律法写好了，就交给抬耶和华约柜的利未支派的祭司子孙，和以色列的众长老。

你要吩咐抬着约柜的祭司说：‘你们到了约旦河水边的时候，要站在约旦河中。’”

以色列人从耶和华的山起行，行了三天的路程，耶和华的约柜在他们前面行了三天的路程，为他们寻找安息的地方。

耶和华在他们前面行，日间用云柱领他们的路，夜间用火柱光照他们，使他们日夜都可以行走。日间云柱，夜间火柱，都不离开众民的面前。

摩西就吩咐抬耶和华约柜的利未人说：

那些抬耶和华的约柜的人走了六步，大卫就献一头公牛和一只肥畜为祭。

于是嫩的儿子约书亚把祭司召了来，对他们说：“你们要抬起约柜；并派七个祭司拿着七个羊角，走在耶和华约柜的前面。”

抬约柜的祭司站在约旦河中间，直到耶和华吩咐约书亚告诉人民的一切事，就是照着摩西吩咐约书亚的一切事，都办完了，人民就急忙过去了。

于是耶稣对门徒说：“如果有人愿意跟从我，就当舍己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。

约书亚又吩咐祭司说：“你们要抬起约柜，在人民前面过河去。”于是他们抬起约柜，走在人民的前面。

有一位经学家前来对他说：“老师，你无论往哪里去，我都要跟从你！”

这些人没有跟妇女在一起而使自己玷污，他们原是童身的。羊羔无论到哪里去，他们都跟随他。这些人是从世人中买来的，作初熟的果子归给神和羊羔。

他们把神的约柜从山冈上亚比拿达的家里抬出来，安放在一辆新车上；亚比拿达的两个儿子，乌撒和亚希约赶着这辆新车，

大卫把撒督和亚比亚他两位祭司，以及乌列、亚帅雅、约珥、示玛雅、以列和亚米拿达几位利未人，召了来，对他们说：“你们是利未人各家族的首领，你们和你们的亲族都要自洁，好把以色列的神耶和华的约柜抬上来，到我为它预备的地方去。

人民离开帐棚出发，要过约旦河的时候，抬约柜的祭司在人民的前面。抬约柜的祭司来到约旦河，他们的脚碰到水边的时候（原来约旦河水在收割的日子，常是涨过两岸的），水就停住了，那从上游流下来的水立起成垒，在很远的地方，就是在撒拉但旁边的亚当城那里停住；那往下流入亚拉巴海，就是盐海的水完全被截断；于是人民就在耶利哥的对面过了河。抬耶和华约柜的祭司在约旦河中间的干地上站住，等以色列众人都在干地上走过去，直到全国的人都完全走过了约旦河为止。

全营出发的时候，亚伦和他的儿子，把圣所和圣所的一切器具遮盖完了以后，哥辖的子孙就要来抬；只是他们不可触摸圣物，免得他们死亡。会幕里这些物件是哥辖的子孙应当抬的。
