Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,

The water of the Jordan was going over its banks. It always does that at the time the crops are being gathered. The priests came to the river. Their feet touched the water’s edge.

and as soon as those bearing the ark had come as far as the Jordan, and the feet of the priests bearing the ark were dipped in the brink of the water( now the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the time of harvest),

It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge,

and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water( for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),

and when they that bare the ark were come unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brink of the water( for the Jordan overfloweth all its banks all the time of harvest),

正月、約但河水漲溢於岸、斯眾濟河、使凡在平原者、遁於東西、

主曰、爾與徒行者同趨、尚且困憊、焉能與乘馬者角力哉、在平康之地、爾可自恃、爾在約但河濱之茂林、將如之何、

敵必忽來、如獅自約但河濱之叢林而上、攻擊鞏固之所、轉瞬之間、我將以東人逐於其地、誰蒙簡選、則我命之以轄斯地、孰能與我比擬、孰能與我爭辯、有何牧人、能立於我前、

舁主約匱之祭司、既自約但中而上、其足方至陸地、約但之水復流故處、漲溢岸外、

迨舁普天下主宰耶和華匱之祭司、立足於約但水中、則約但之水必絕流、自上而下之水、壁立若堆、

足踐之、窮民之足踐之、貧者步履其上、

爾當在亞筆月守逾越節於主爾之天主前、因在亞筆月夜間、主爾之天主導爾出伊及、當於主所選為其名所在之處、以牛羊獻於主爾之天主、以為逾越節之祭、爾守逾越節、不可食酵、歷七日當食無酵餅、即窮困之餅、蓋爾出伊及、乃急速而出、使爾畢生記憶爾出伊及之日、七日間、於爾四境毋存有酵之物、首日薄暮所獻之祭牲、毋留其肉於明日、主爾之天主所賜爾諸邑、不可隨意在各邑獻逾越節祭牲、惟主爾之天主所選為其名所在之處、在彼於薄暮日入之時、即爾出伊及之時、獻逾越節祭牲、烹而食之在主爾天主所選之處、明晨可歸己家、家原文作幕六日間必食無酵餅、第七日當有聖會於主爾天主前、不可操作、○當核七七日、自初用鐮刈榖之日、核其七七日、

以色列人列營在吉甲、至正月十四日夕、守逾越節於耶利哥平原、逾越節之明日、民食其地所產之穀、當日食無酵餅與烘穀、既食地之所產、此日瑪拿即止、以色列人不再得瑪拿、是年始食迦南地之所產、○

爾告以色列人云、爾曹至我所賜爾之地、刈獲稼穡、當以初刈之禾一束、奉於祭司、祭司以禾束搖於主前、使爾曹蒙悅納、即於安息日之次日、祭司搖之、搖禾束之日、當以未盈歲無疵之牡羔、獻於主為火焚祭、配以和油細麵伊法十分之二、為素祭、為火祭、為馨香獻於主、又奠酒一欣四分之一、此日以先、未獻此祭於爾天主前、毋食新糧、無論成為餅、穀之烘者、或搗者、在爾所居之處、歷代以此為永定之例、○自安息日之次日、即獻而搖禾束之日、當數七七日、至第七安息日之次日、共計五十日、乃以新麵備素祭獻於主、
