屆期孿生、初產者紅、遍體生毛如裘、命名以掃。後出者手執兄踵、命名雅各、二子生時、以撒年已六旬。

遂遣人先往西耳地以東田、見兄以掃、

以色列攜凡所有、往至別是巴、獻祭於父以撒之上帝。至夜、上帝於異象中、呼以色列曰、雅各、雅各曰、吾在此。曰、我乃上帝、即爾父之上帝、爾往埃及勿懼、我必昌熾爾族、使成大國。我將導爾至埃及、歸爾骨於故土、約瑟將按手於爾、使爾瞑目。雅各離別是巴、眾子以法老所遣之車載其父、爰及妻孥。雅各驅群畜、攜迦南所有之貨財、及女子與孫戚族、咸至埃及。
