But I took your father Abraham from the land beyond the Euphrates and led him throughout Canaan and gave him many descendants. I gave him Isaac,

I took your father Abraham from the land east of the Euphrates. I led him all through Canaan. I gave him many children and grandchildren. I gave him Isaac.

主諭亞伯蘭曰、爾可離故土親族父家、往我將示爾之地、我將使爾成為大族、賜福於爾、使爾名揚、俾爾享厚福、為爾祝福者、我必降之以福、詛爾者我必降之以禍、天下萬族、必因爾獲福、亞伯蘭遵主命而往、羅得偕行、亞伯蘭離哈蘭時、年七十有五、

司提反曰、諸父兄聽之哉、昔我祖亞伯拉罕、尚在米所波米、未居哈蘭時、榮光之天主現於彼、曰、爾出故土、離親族、往我將指爾之地、

亞伯拉罕老邁時、撒拉懷妊、屆天主所言之期、從亞伯拉罕生一子、撒拉從亞伯拉罕所生之子、亞伯拉罕命名以撒、

子女乃主所賜、胎之所產、皆主賞賚、

主天主歟、昔選亞伯蘭、導之出迦勒底之吾珥、賜名亞伯拉罕、主見其心誠信於主前、與之立約、許以迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、革迦西人之地、賜其苗裔、主為至義、已踐前言、

遂攜之出外曰、仰觀天、試數眾星能勝數呼、又曰、爾之後裔必如是、
