Then Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, because it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us; so it shall be a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”

謂民曰、耶和華諭我之言、此石悉聞之、可對我為證、必為爾證、免爾違爾上帝、

告民曰、我儕以此石為憑、耶和華所諭我者、斯石聞之、如爾違爾上帝、可以此石為憑。

約書亞謂民眾曰、凡主諭我諸言、此石皆聞之、可對我儕作證、如爾違主爾之天主、有此石對爾作證、

“ See!” he said to all the people.“ This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

“ Look!” he said to all the people.“ This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has spoken to us. Suppose you aren’t faithful to your God. Then the stone will be a witness against you.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

Joshua said to all the people,“ This stone has heard everything the Lord said to us. It will be a witness to testify against you if you go back on your word to God.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ You see this stone— it will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.”

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it hath heard all the words of Jehovah which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness against you, lest ye deny your God.

And Joshua said to all the people,“ You see this stone— it will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the Lord said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

Joshua said to all the people,“ Look, this stone will be a witness against you, for it has heard everything the LORD said to us. It will be a witness against you if you deny your God.”

Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all Yahweh’s words which he spoke to us. It shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your God.”

Jesus replied,“ I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!”

And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad called the altar Witness;“ For,” they said,“ it is a witness between us that the Lord is God.”

rather, it shall be a witness between us and you and between our generations after us, that we are to perform the service of the Lord before Him with our burnt offerings, our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings, so that your sons will not say to our sons in time to come,“ You have no portion in the Lord.” ’Therefore we said,‘ It shall also come about if they say this to us or to our generations in time to come, then we shall say,“ See the copy of the altar of the Lord which our fathers made, not for burnt offering or for sacrifice; rather, it is a witness between us and you.” ’

“ Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, so that it may remain there as a witness against you.

Listen, heavens, and hear, earth; For the Lord has spoken:“ Sons I have raised and brought up, But they have revolted against Me.

“ Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; And let the earth hear the words of my mouth!

For disaster from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.

If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He will also deny us;If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Then Samuel took a stone and placed it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying,“ So far the Lord has helped us.”

But whoever denies Me before people, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

So that I will not be full and deny You and say,“ Who is the Lord?” And that I will not become impoverished and steal, And profane the name of my God.

Then it will come about, when many evils and troubles find them, that this song will testify before them as a witness( for it shall not be forgotten from the mouth of their descendants); for I know their inclination which they are developing today, before I bring them into the land which I swore.”

For the stone will cry out from the wall, And the rafter will answer it from the framework.

They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.

So now come, let’s make a covenant, you and I, and it shall be a witness between you and me.”Then Jacob took a stone and set it up as a memorial stone.Jacob said to his relatives,“ Gather stones.” So they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there by the heap.Now Laban called it Jegar sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.Laban said,“ This heap is a witness between you and me this day.” Therefore it was named Galeed,and Mizpah, for he said,“ May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are absent one from the other.If you mistreat my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, although no one is with us, see, God is witness between you and me.”Laban also said to Jacob,“ Behold this heap and behold the memorial stone which I have set between you and me.This heap is a witness, and the memorial stone is a witness, that I will not pass by this heap to you for harm, and you will not pass by this heap and this memorial stone to me, for harm.

“ Now then, write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the sons of Israel; put it on their lips, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the sons of Israel.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that you will certainly perish quickly from the land where you are going over the Jordan to take possession of it. You will not live long on it, but will be utterly destroyed.

‘ I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have followed My word, and have not denied My name.
