耶穌回答說：『我告訴你們，這些人若不作聲，石頭也會喊起來的！』

如便人和迦得人把那祭壇叫作證壇，意思是說：『這壇在我們之間做證據、證實永恆主乃是上帝。』

乃是為了做證據，在我們與你們之間做證據，也在你我以後的世代之間、做證據，好使我們也可以在永恆主面前用我們的燔祭、和別的祭、跟平安祭來事奉永恆主，免得你們的子孫日後對我們的子孫說：『你們對於永恆主沒有分了。』」因此我們說：日後他們若對我們或我們的後代這樣說，我們就可以說：「你們看我們先祖所造的永恆主祭壇的模型，這並不是為了獻燔祭，也不是為了獻別的祭，乃是為了在我們與你們之間做證據啊。」

『你們要將「這律法」書放在永恆主你們的上帝的約櫃旁，好讓它在那裏做見證指責你們的不對。

天哪，要聽！地啊，要側耳以聽！因為永恆主說：『我將兒女養大，撫養起來，他們竟背叛了我。

『諸天哪，側耳聽吧，我要講話；願地也聽我口中所說的。

因為上帝降的災難使我恐懼，他的尊嚴我當不起。

我們若堅忍到底，也必和他同掌王權；我們若否認他，他也必否認我們；我們若不信他，他仍舊是可信的；因為他不能否認自己。』

撒母耳將一塊石頭安放在米斯巴與耶沙拿之間，給石頭起名叫以便以謝，說：『這是永恆主幫助我們的證據。』

凡在人面前否認我的，我在我天上的父面前也必否認他。

恐怕我飽足了、就否認你，說：『永恆主是誰？』又恐怕我窮乏了、就偷竊，以致冒瀆了我的上帝的名。

趕到許多災禍患難找到他們身上去的時候，這首歌、就可以當面作證控訴他們，因為這首歌必不至於被忘掉、而不在他們後裔口中傳誦着；其實我還未領他們進我所起誓應許之地以先，他們今日心裏所作的計畫我都知道了。』

牆裏的石頭必哀呼，木寮中的椽子必應聲的。

他們自稱為認識上帝，卻用行為去否認他。他們是可憎的、悖逆的，在各樣善行上都不中用。

來吧，現在我們立個約吧：我與你。就讓以下這個、做你我之間的證據。』雅各就取了一塊石頭，立為聖柱。拉班又對他的族弟兄們說：『撿石頭！』他們就拿石頭作成一堆，大家就在那裏，在那一堆旁邊，喫喝。拉班將它叫做伊迦爾撒哈杜他；雅各卻把它叫做迦累得。拉班說：『今天、這一堆是你我之間的證據』；於是給它起名叫迦累得。又叫米斯巴，就是，他說，『我們隔別、彼此不見面時願永恆主在你我之間也鑒察』。你若是苦待我的女兒，若是在我的女兒以外、另娶些妻子、而沒有同我們在一起，，看哪，上帝就是你我之間的見證。』拉班對雅各說：『你看這一堆；你看我所立在你我之間的這聖柱。這堆做證據，聖柱做證據：我決不越過這堆去害你，你也決不越過這堆和聖柱來害我。

現在你們要寫出以下這首歌來，教導以色列人，使他們口誦，好讓這首歌為我做見證指責以色列人的不對。

我今日呼天喚地來警告你們，我將活與死、祝福與咒詛、都擺在你面前；你務要揀選「活」，使你和你後裔得以活着，

那麼、我今日就呼天喚地來警告你們，你們必定從過約但河取得為業的地上迅速地滅亡；你們在那地必不能延年益壽，總必完全被消滅。

我知道你的行為（你看，我已經賜給你一個敞開的門在你面前，是沒有人能關的）。你有一點能力，曾遵守我的道，沒有否認我的名。
