約書亞謂民眾曰、凡主諭我諸言、此石皆聞之、可對我儕作證、如爾違主爾之天主、有此石對爾作證、

“ See!” he said to all the people.“ This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

“ Look!” he said to all the people.“ This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has spoken to us. Suppose you aren’t faithful to your God. Then the stone will be a witness against you.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

Joshua said to all the people,“ This stone has heard everything the Lord said to us. It will be a witness to testify against you if you go back on your word to God.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ You see this stone— it will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”

Then Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, because it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us; so it shall be a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”

耶穌回答說：「我告訴你們：這些人如果不做聲，石頭都會呼喊起來！」

諸天哪，你們當聽！大地啊，你當傾聽！因為耶和華說：「我養育兒女，帶大了他們，他們卻悖逆了我。

我們如果忍耐，就將與他一同做王；我們如果不認他，他也將不認我們。我們如果不信實，他仍然是信實的，因為他不能否定自己。

撒母耳取來一塊石頭，放在米斯巴和善之間，給它起名為以便-以謝，說：「直到如今，耶和華都幫助我們。」

但無論誰在人面前不認我，我在我天上的父面前也將不認他。

免得我飽足了，就否認你，說：「耶和華是誰呢？」又免得我陷入窮困，就去偷竊，以致干犯了我神的名。

他們聲稱認識神，卻在行為上否認他。他們是可憎惡的、悖逆的，在任何美善的工作上都經不起考驗。

來吧，現在讓你我二人立約，作你我之間的見證。」雅各就拿了一塊石頭，把它立起來作柱子。接著雅各對他的兄弟們說：「你們去撿石頭。」他們就把石頭拿來，堆成石堆，然後就在石堆旁邊吃喝。拉班稱那石堆為伊迦爾-撒哈杜他，雅各卻稱它為迦累得。拉班說：「今日，這石堆就是你我之間的見證。」因此，這石堆名叫迦累得，又叫米斯巴，因為拉班說：「當我們彼此遠離了對方的視線之後，願耶和華在你我中間守望。如果你苦待我的女兒們，或者在我的女兒之外，又娶了妻子；就算沒有人與我們各人在一起，看吧，神就是你我之間的見證。」拉班對雅各說：「看哪，這石堆！看哪，這柱子！是我在你我之間放置的；這石堆就是見證，這柱子就是見證：我必不越過這石堆去害你，你也絕不可越過這石堆和這柱子來害我。

我知道你的行為。看哪，我在你面前賜下了一個敞開的門，是沒有人能關上的；這是因為你能力小，但你遵守了我的話語，沒有否認我的名。
