“ See!” he said to all the people.“ This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

“ Look!” he said to all the people.“ This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has spoken to us. Suppose you aren’t faithful to your God. Then the stone will be a witness against you.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

Joshua said to all the people,“ This stone has heard everything the Lord said to us. It will be a witness to testify against you if you go back on your word to God.”

And Joshua said to all the people,“ You see this stone— it will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”

Then Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, because it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us; so it shall be a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”

耶稣回答说：“我告诉你们：这些人如果不做声，石头都会呼喊起来！”

诸天哪，你们当听！大地啊，你当倾听！因为耶和华说：“我养育儿女，带大了他们，他们却悖逆了我。

我们如果忍耐，就将与他一同做王；我们如果不认他，他也将不认我们。我们如果不信实，他仍然是信实的，因为他不能否定自己。

撒母耳取来一块石头，放在米斯巴和善之间，给它起名为以便-以谢，说：“直到如今，耶和华都帮助我们。”

但无论谁在人面前不认我，我在我天上的父面前也将不认他。

免得我饱足了，就否认你，说：“耶和华是谁呢？”又免得我陷入穷困，就去偷窃，以致干犯了我神的名。

他们声称认识神，却在行为上否认他。他们是可憎恶的、悖逆的，在任何美善的工作上都经不起考验。

来吧，现在让你我二人立约，作你我之间的见证。”雅各就拿了一块石头，把它立起来作柱子。接着雅各对他的兄弟们说：“你们去捡石头。”他们就把石头拿来，堆成石堆，然后就在石堆旁边吃喝。拉班称那石堆为伊迦尔-撒哈杜他，雅各却称它为迦累得。拉班说：“今日，这石堆就是你我之间的见证。”因此，这石堆名叫迦累得，又叫米斯巴，因为拉班说：“当我们彼此远离了对方的视线之后，愿耶和华在你我中间守望。如果你苦待我的女儿们，或者在我的女儿之外，又娶了妻子；就算没有人与我们各人在一起，看吧，神就是你我之间的见证。”拉班对雅各说：“看哪，这石堆！看哪，这柱子！是我在你我之间放置的；这石堆就是见证，这柱子就是见证：我必不越过这石堆去害你，你也绝不可越过这石堆和这柱子来害我。

我知道你的行为。看哪，我在你面前赐下了一个敞开的门，是没有人能关上的；这是因为你能力小，但你遵守了我的话语，没有否认我的名。
