亞伯蘭在那地穿行，直到示劍地區，到摩利的橡樹那裡。當時迦南人就在那地。

雅各從巴旦-亞蘭回來的時候，平安地來到迦南地的示劍城，在城的對面支搭帳篷。他用一百塊銀子，從示劍的父親哈抹的兒子們手中買下了這塊支搭帳篷的地。

於是他們把自己手中所有的外邦神像和自己耳朵上的環子都交給雅各；雅各把它們埋藏在示劍附近的橡樹底下。
